SUMMARY:Alberese - mareMMa\, the Nature of Wine 2026
DESCRIPTION:mareMMMa\, the Nature of Wine: Maremma\, Montecucco and Morellino di Scansano together again in Alberese\, for the first time over two days-Sunday\, March 1 and Monday\, March 2-to tell the story of the Tuscan Maremma’s wine excellence \nAfter the great success of the previous Maremma editions and the successful debut of the Florentine stage last fall\, “mareMMa\, the Nature of Wine” returns to Alberese\, in the province of Grosseto\, with an important novelty. In 2026\, in fact\, the event doubles and for the first time will be held over two days: Sunday\, March 1 for wine lovers and Monday\, March 2 exclusively for operators. \nA new format designed to respond to the growing demand for participation encountered over the years and to offer an increasingly wide audience the opportunity to take part in what is confirming itself as one of the industry’s benchmark events. \nThe event\nThe event\, which reaches its 7th edition this year\, was born from the synergy between the Consortia of the three Tuscan Maremma Denominations – Tuscan Maremma\, Montecucco e Morellino di Scansano – and presents a wide selection of labels representative of this still unspoiled territory with great quality potential. \nIn the now traditional location of the central hall of the Lorenese Granary of Spergolaia\, wine enthusiasts and operators will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with producers and their wine proposal. A unique opportunity\, with a great educational and informative impact\, that promotes the excellence of a rising territory in which terroirs different from each other but united by the soul of a millennial winemaking tradition give rise to an extensive and varied offer of red\, white and rosé wines. \nThe event again for this edition is organized by MExTE Eventi\, professionals in organizing public and private events. \nThe program\nThe date to mark in your agenda is March 1 and 2.\, with admission – free but with prior online registration – as follows: \n\nSunday\, March 1 from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Afternoon dedicated to enthusiasts. Registration link: https://mareMMMa-1-marzo-2026-pubblico.eventbrite.it \n\n\nMonday\, March 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Day reserved exclusively for industry professionals. Registration link: https://mareMMMa-2-marzo-2026-operatori.eventbrite.it\n\nProtection Consortia:\nConsortium for the Protection of Wines of the Tuscan Maremma DOC\nThe Consortium for the Protection of the Wines of the Tuscan Maremma was founded in 2014 after the awarding of the DOC itself with the aim of promoting the quality of its wines and guaranteeing compliance with the production standards set out in the regulations\, devoting itself\, in addition\, to brand protection and assistance to members on the regulations governing the sector. The consortium now has 475 member wineries\, with an annual production of 7.5 million bottles. Native grape varieties-Vermentino\, Ciliegiolo\, Canaiolo nero\, Alicante\, Sangiovese\, Pugnitello\, Trebbiano\, Ansonica\, Malvasia-have been joined by international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon\, Cabernet franc\, Merlot\, Syrah\, Viognier\, Sauvignon\, Chardonnay and Petit Verdot. \nWeb site: www.consorziovinimaremma.it \nFacebook: https://it-it.facebook.com/ConsorzioViniMaremmaToscana/ \nConsortium for the Protection of Montecucco Wines\nThe wines of Montecucco\, an area that comes to life where the soft shapes of the Tuscan Maremma quickly give way to the slopes of Mount Amiata\, are made from grapes grown in the 7 municipalities of the Denominazione di origine controllata e garantita\, the DOCG in effect since September 2011: Arcidosso\, Campagnatico\, Castel del Piano\, Cinigiano\, Civitella Paganico\, Roccalbegna and Seggiano. The appellation\, groups 68 companies. The area\, highly vocated to the production of Sangiovese\, enjoys extremely favorable climatic conditions\, close to the Tyrrhenian Sea – from which it is only a few kilometers away as the crow flies – and to the now extinct volcano Amiata\, which with its 1\,738 meters high dominates the entire territory between Maremma\, Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana. \nWeb site: www.consorziomontecucco.it \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/MontecuccoSangioveseDocg/ \nConsorzio Tutela Morellino di Scansano\nThe Consorzio Tutela Morellino di Scansano was founded in 1992 with the aim of protecting and promoting Morellino di Scansano DOCG\, ensuring compliance with the production regulations and offering support to members on the main issues in the sector. Recognition of the DOCG\, obtained from the 2007 vintage\, marked a milestone on the path of growth and consolidation of the appellation. The consortium now has 205 members. The regulations require the use of at least 85 percent Sangiovese. Average annual production is about 9.5 million bottles\, placing Morellino di Scansano among the Tuscan DOCGs most present on the national market\, with a constantly growing export share. \nWeb site: www.consorziomorellino.it \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/ConsorzioTutelaMorellinoDiScansano
