SUMMARY:Wine in Venice
DESCRIPTION:The 3rd edition of Wine in Venice\, an iconic event that fits into the calendar of major Venetian events such as Carnival and the Film Festival\, is coming soon!\n\n\n\nWhat is Wine in Venice\nWine in Venice was born from the need to tell the story of wine in a different and current way. The initial idea was to start with virtuous producers\, who work with a vision toward a different future. These producers\, regardless of their size and the number of bottles produced\, can set an example. Rewarding realities that choose to work inspired by the principles of ethics\, sustainability and innovation\, with free participation in such an important event\, means talking about wine by changing our cultural and analytical paradigms. Tastings\, masterclasses and wine talks enliven the first wine red carpet\, with the aim of proposing new points of view on wine production. It aims at a broader reflection on our way of life\, the role and importance of territorial management\, and respect for the context in which we operate. The focus is on choices that winemakers make with a primary perspective of responsibility. \nThe Program of the Event\nFrom January 31 to February 3\, Venice will open the doors of some of its most prestigious and symbolic locations\, such as the Scuola Grande della Misericordia\, to host this unique event. The four-day main program will be packed with discussions\, tastings\, presentations and food for thought to outline the industry’s decisive next steps. Numerous side events are also planned in the preceding weeks. \nImportant Details\nThe format includes tastings\, wine talks\, masterclasses\, in-depth discussions and an exclusive space for the 20 wineries\, selected by an international jury of experts. \nWithin the broad Italian wine scene\, a small group of producers have been selected who embody the values of Wine in Venice. AIS Veneto will guarantee the quality of the product in the glass. Each Italian region will be represented by a winery selected by a multifaceted jury composed of leading figures from the wine world and experts who are spokespeople for the Manifesto values. \nThe event is aimed at both industry professionals and the enthusiast audience. \nOfficial Link\nFor more information\, visit the event’s official website: www.wineinvenice.com

SUMMARY:Rome - Plan Hunt at Jackie O' Wine Club
DESCRIPTION:Jackie O’ Wine Club\, Caccia al Piano wines star in an evening tasting at one of Rome’s most exclusive wineclubs\, Wednesday\, Feb. 19\, 2025\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Jackie O’ Wine Club:\n\n\n\n\n\nLocated in the beating heart of Rome\, the Jackie O’ is more than just a club-it’s an icon of style and entertainment that has embodied the timeless sophistication of Rome’s Dolce Vita since 1972. This exclusive destination welcomes guests in a refined atmosphere with impeccable service\, perfect for a memorable evening. A true Oasis of Elegance and Entertainment in the Heart of Rome. \n\n\nThe Jackie O’ restaurant\, overseen by chef Federico Sparaco\, offers traditional cuisine that combines the best of Italian culinary traditions with a contemporary twist. Each dish is prepared with fresh and selected ingredients\, ensuring an unparalleled dining experience that stimulates the senses. In this unique setting\, on Wednesday evenings Jackie O’ WineClub opens its doors to exclusive events featuring top wineries\, welcomed and presented by Chiara Giannotti \n\n\n\nHunting the Plan:\nTenuta Caccia al Piano is nestled in the enchanting Bolgheri area\, where the perfect combination of Mediterranean microclimate and clay-limestone soils gives the ideal terroir for great wines. Here\, along the picturesque Via Bolgherese\, which runs between vineyards and olive trees\, winemaker Franco Ziliani has begun a new adventure dedicating himself to the production of wines that leave their mark. Franco Ziliani\, owner of Guido Berlucchi\, pioneered the birth of Metodo Classico in Franciacorta in the 1960s. In the early 2000s\, he decided to bet on an emerging territory like Bolgheri in Tuscany with the goal of making great red wines. The desire to patiently understand the Bolgheri terroir\, respecting what has already been done by the great protagonists who have made the wine of these lands famous\, has guided Franco Ziliani’s work from the beginning\, now carried on by his children Cristina\, Arturo and Paolo. The estate is located in Castagneto Carducci in the hamlet of Bolgheri and was created from the renovation of an ancient hunting estate owned by the noble Della Gherardesca family\, dating from 1868. The farmhouse\, thanks to a careful work of redevelopment in full respect of the surrounding territory\, has been expanded and transformed into the current headquarters of the winery. \nThe Vineyards of Caccia al Piano:\nThe spark\, which culminated in the purchase of the Caccia al Piano Estate in 2003\, was sparked after visiting the San Biagio vineyard\, a wonderful area that enjoys a privileged position in the Bolgheri area and a fascinating view of the sea. At 12 hectares\, San Biagio is the estate’s largest vineyard. Lying 180 meters above sea level\, it is planted in a “humpback” shape on the ridge of the hill overlooking the two slopes with a southeast and southwest exposure. Divided into 7 plots\, it has very heterogeneous soils with a clay and limestone texture rich in skeleton. Constant ventilation and solar reflection from the sea give the grapes perfect healthiness. Over the years the winery spreads to other extraodinary soils. First we find Grottine\, with an extension of 5 hectares and an East-West orientation\, with a characteristic red-colored soil\, optimal for growing Merlot. Next comes Cantina\, a 3-hectare plot where Petit Verdot vines are grown\, with an East-West orientation\, and Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc\, towards the North-South. Finally Le Bozze\, 3 hectares characterized by a flat profile in the lower parts near the sea\, ideal for white grapes such as Vermentino and Suvignon Blanc. \nJackie O’ Wine Club’s schedule for Wednesday\, Feb. 19\nChiara Giannotti will present the evening. With her will be Francesco Lippini\, marketing manager of Tenuta Caccia al Piano. \, supported by the venue’s sommelier Manuel Pompili. Together they will lead you to discover the extraordinary Bolgheri terroir. They will be tasting four exceptional wines paired with the menu created for the occasion by Chef Federico Sparaco of Jackie O’. \n\n\nThe appointment is for Wednesday\, Feb. 19 from 8 to 10 p.m. \nIn tasting \n\nCaP Rosè Metodo Classico Extra Brut 2022 with low temperature veal tonnato with Pantelleria capers\nLungocosta Bolgheri Bianco Doc 2022 paired with rosemary potato millefeuille on Jerusalem artichoke cream and San Daniele petals\nRuit Hora Bolgheri Rosso Doc 2022 accompanied by orecchiette cacio e pepe with Sicilian broccoli cream\nCaccia al Piano Bolgheri Superiore Docg 2021withterrine of coda alla vaccinara with crispy celery\n\nUseful information:\nPlaces are limited.
