SUMMARY:Rome - Bererosa 2025
DESCRIPTION:Bererosa 2025: On Tuesday\, July 1\, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.\, the 14th Edition comes to life at the Villa Appia Antica in Rome to celebrate Italian rosés\, a sector on the rise in quality\nMore than 130 labels in tastings for a tour to discover one of the most fascinating productions of Italian oenology \nBererosa returns to the evocative open spaces of Villa Appia Antica\, the location that for five years has celebrated the great still and sparkling rosé wines of the Belpaese\, a production that makes quality and identity its strong points. \nAppointment Tuesday\, July 1\, from 5 to 11 p.m. to learn about a selection of more than 130 labels representing the best rosé productions from the north to the south of the Peninsula\, discovering the most iconic rosé wines of each region\, amid ancient trees and vestiges of ancient Rome. \n“Pink wines with geographical indications in 2024 counted one million and 450 thousand hectoliters produced\,” says Francesco D’Agostino director of Cucina & Vini\, “losing about eighty thousand hectoliters compared to 2021 (5.3%)\, of which almost sixty thousand are to be ascribed to Prosecco DOC\, whose variations have different origins\, linked and global market movements. In fact\, it remains largely the leading region with about 460\,000 hectoliters produced\, followed by Emilia Lambrusco Igt close to 135\,000 hectoliters. As for rosé wines as a whole\, in 2024 we produced pink wines for about two million one hundred and fifty thousand hectoliters\, registering a reduction of 7.6 percent over 2021. Basically\, the production of certified origin holds\, while the process of reduction of simpler productions that do not declare the origin continues.” \nOrganizational details\nAs every year\, Bererosa will take place with the Walk Around Tasting formula\, which will allow the public to taste absolutely fine labels\, walking freely through the enchanting Villa Appia Antica\, pairing them with a great selection of food proposals. From the seafood specialties of Pescaria\, the chain of restaurants made in Puglia\, with their fish sandwiches\, all also available in a vegetarian version\, and the cartocci of fried fish and vegetables alike\, to the ever-present Roman pizza stuffed with mortadella from the Sfornaio food truck. There will also be Cosmic Crisp\, the apples of the future born from a cross between the Enterprise and Honeycrisp varieties\, which can also be learned about with a ride on the Cosmic Crisp hot air balloon. There will be no shortage of space dedicated to extra virgin olive oils selected by Olives Road\, and\, in addition\, the entire tasting trail will be supported by the use of VDGlass’ top-notch glasses. \nUseful Information:\nBererosa 2025 Tuesday\, July 1 from 5 to 11 p.m. \nAppia Antica Park Via Pompeo Licinio\, 87 Rome \nOnline ticketing at the link\, also available at the event \nInfo: bererosa@cucinaevini.it; Tel. 0698872584

SUMMARY:Canelli City of Wine - "Sparkling Canelli - Bubbles in Canelli"
DESCRIPTION:Canelli City of Wine – Sparkling Canelli – Bubbles in Canelli: Two days to celebrate the city of Muscat and Underground Cathedrals\nThere is a place\, in the heart of the UNESCO heritage hills\, where wine comes to life among ancient stones\, the voices of tradition and the gentle breath of summer. It is Canelli\, city of Muscat and Underground Cathedrals\, which for two days becomes the capital of taste and conviviality with the 2025 edition of Canelli City of Wine entitled “Sparkling Canelli – Bubbles in Canelli.” \nA widespread event\, an open-air festival\, an invitation to get lost – and find oneself – among glasses of wine\, picturesque views\, meetings\, music\, stories and flavors. \nFriday\, July 11\nWith the “White Night of Libraries\,” words\, readings and music meet under the stars for a special evening dedicated to culture and imagination. The “Monticone” Civic Library will be the protagonist in Piazza Cavour\, amid summer atmospheres and moments to share\, accompanied by the musical performance of Mila Ogliastro\, whose voice will make the experience even more evocative. \nSaturday\, July 12\nThe lights slowly turn on on the squares and cobbled streets of Canelli. At 6 p.m.\, with the official opening\, the tastings begin: the first toast is the prelude to a journey through the most beloved wines-Canelli DOCG\, Asti Spumante DOCG\, Alta Langa DOCG-accompanied by street food dishes offered by the Pro Loco and local restaurateurs. \nThe Sternia\, Canelli’s historic street\, is transformed into a stroll among faces\, wines and stories: during the event\, local producers will find space here\, with their stations overlooking evocative views and breathtaking panoramas. Piazza Cavour and Via G.B. Giuliani host the large tasting stands\, while the Church of San Rocco\, the Enoteca Regionale and other characteristic courtyards open their doors to the Consortia of Asti Spumante DOCG\,Alta Langa DOCG\, Canelli DOCG and Vermouth\, which offer guided tastings paired with sweets from local pastry shops and artisanal ice cream. \nIn Piazza Aosta\, “La piazzetta degli artisti” will come to life with painting and sculpture exhibitions\, en plein air performances-even with wine as the color-and creative workshops for children. In the evening\, the little train through the village of Villanuova offers a romantic interlude among the vineyards and hills\, and at 7 p.m. a living chess game in Zoppa Square transforms the game into a spectacle: figures in stage clothes move on the board like real pawns\, bringing to life a challenge of intelligence and theatricality that enchants young and old alike. \nMusic wafts to every corner: DJ sets and signature songs accompany the bubbles under the stars for a night of excitement. \nSunday\, July 13\nIt’s a slow awakening day\, with the opening of craft exhibits. Back to life is the “Piazzetta degli Artisti\,” which on Sunday will once again animate the center with exhibitions\, performances and workshops\, giving adults and children new moments of creativity and participation. Also active again are the food points in the squares and along the streets\, while in the afternoon the wineries open their doors for visits\, stories and tastings immersed in the beauty of the area. \nThe Enoteca Courtyard becomes a stage for popular meetings: mini lectures on Metodo Classico and Martinotti\, led by experts\, accompany the public in a reasoned and curious tasting. In the afternoon\, shuttles take you on scenic routes and to the “El Valet” truffle farm\, for those who want to discover the most authentic and hidden side of local production: the itinerary winds through the vineyards that embroider the hills\, passing in front of the historic wine cellars\, until it reaches symbolic places such as the Contini Tower\, from which the gaze embraces all the beauty of the wine-growing landscape. \nThe itinerary also continues in the sign of the truffle\, with in-depth moments dedicated to the prized Black Summer Truffle\, in addition to a guided tour of the “El Valet” truffle farm: a popular talk on Sunday at 6 p.m. in Piazza Cavour entitled “Black Truffle: Natural Opportunities\,” with guest Isabella Gianicolo of the National Center for Truffle Studies in Alba. The weekend’s food and wine proposal is also enriched with dishes celebrating it\, paired with local bubbles\, for an intense encounter between land and wine. \nExhibitions open to the public\nThroughout the weekend\, art and photography enrich the Canelli City of Wine experience with two exhibitions open to the public: \n\nSala delle Stelle – “The UNESCO Wonder of Langhe\, Roero and Monferrato”\nFrom July 4 to August 31\, a story in images through the shots of Enzo Massa\, Carlo Avataneo and Enzo Isaia: a tribute to the landscape that surrounds us\, among hills\, vineyards and villages suspended in time.\nPalazzo Irreale – “Giuseppe Gabellone ” Exhibition \nFrom May 18 to Sept. 28\, the halls of Palazzo Irreale will host the poetic and visual universe of one of the most interesting contemporary artists on the Italian scene.\n\nThe majestic Underground Cathedrals will also be visited with guided tours and by reservation:\nAn unmissable opportunity to descend into the tuff hearts where the great sparkling wines rest\, in one of the most iconic UNESCO heritage sites. During the weekend it will also be possible to participate in guided tours in Italian and English to discover the historic center of Canelli\, including history\, architecture and curiosities related to the wine tradition. SUMMARY:Sicilia in Bolle
DESCRIPTION:Sicilia in Bolle – the review of Sicilian sparkling wines: eleventh candle for the bubble festival of Ais Agrigento Caltanissetta\nThe Agrigento Caltanissetta delegation together with Ais Sicilia presents the biggest highlight of the entire season: the Sicilian bubbly review. \nThe event will span three days including thematic talks\, conferences\, masterclasses\, wine contests\, atmospheric sunset aperitifs and gala dinners\, with an appendix on mixology on July 7 \nAis Sicilia and Ais Agrigento Caltanissetta once again protagonists through its regional wine appreciation events. It is coming up\, in fact\, between July 12 and 14 next\, between Casa Diodoros in the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento and the Madison Restaurant in Realmonte\, the eleventh edition of “Sicilia in Bolle\,” the now archaic kermesse\, the most relevant of the entire program year\, which concerns the promotion of sparkling and sparkling wines from the entire island and beyond. \nSicilia in Bolle in the beginning a bet described as “impossible”\nThe first edition was born as a bet won by the then delegate of Ais Agrigento-Caltanissetta\, Francesco Baldacchino\, now president of Ais Sicilia\, who always tells that he picked up the provocation of a northern colleague who said that from Rome downwards it should be forbidden to produce sparkling wine. A goad that acted as a spur and spark\, and that leads today to narrate the eleventh time of this challenge taken up that gives luster to a sector that is always growing. \nThe idea\, then\, took shape during chats between the late Alberto Gino Grillo\, late sommelier to whom an Award and a contest have been dedicated for years\, and Baldacchino himself\, who\, together with the delegation operating group and in the evocative scenery of the Scala Dei Turchi\, succeeded in shaping from nothing to a then exceptional and singular event for Sicily. \n“Eleven years ago we never would have thought we would be able to collect this enormous success of acclaim\,” says Ais Sicilia President Francesco Baldacchino. An event that every year is always eagerly awaited by winelovers and wineries. The latter see their products enhanced through the tasting counters\, but also with thematic meetings\, masterclasses and dedicated talk shows. A peculiar moment in which sparkling wine is elevated to the undisputed prince of Sicilian viticulture and which also finds a way to compare itself with products from other Italian or foreign vocated areas\, such as Franciacorta\, Alta Langa or France for example.” \nBetween the Scala dei Turchi and the Valley of the Temples\nThere will be three days dedicated to Sparkling wines: Saturday\, July 12\, Sunday 13 and Monday 14. The Madison in Realmonte (AG)\, a restaurant right next to the Scala dei Turchi\, and the Valley of the Temples\, along the Coast of Myth\, in the province of Agrigento \, a city for 2025 designated a capital of culture\, will be the stage for this eventful 11th edition of “Sicilia in Bolle.” \nPlus an appendix on Monday\, July 7\, at “‘Nzolia\,” a restaurant wine bar\, in Agrigento in which the Mixology contest “Marisa Leo Memorial Prize” will see bartenders grappling with Sicilian sparkling wines. A tribute to creativity and talent. \nExpected to collaborate with two exclusive partners who will ensure a sure focus on quality and innovation: IRVO\, Regional Institute of Wine and Oil\, and CREA-VE\, a center that deals with viticulture and carries out activities to conserve and enhance national viticultural germplasm\, as well as promote cultivation techniques aimed at encouraging environmental sustainability. The two entities will be featured in an interesting conference on experimental sparkling wines moderated by Roberto Gueli\, deputy national director TGR Rai. \nA significant tribute to the shores of Agrigento.\n“Sicilia in Bolle” is not only a wine event\, but a true tribute to the territory. The choice of these exceptional locations fits perfectly into the project to enhance the Coast of Myth promoted by the Valley of the Temples Tourist District. An initiative that aims to enhance the scenic\, historical and cultural wonders of this stretch of the Agrigento coast\, offering visitors a complete immersion in the magic of ancient and contemporary Sicily. \nIn addition to the appointment that will raise the curtain on the event and which will cover the two most in vogue Sicilian autochthonous wines of the moment\, Grillo and Nero d’Avola\, there will be no less than three masterclasses located one per day. With some “incognito” wine glasses: \n\nsicilian varieties\nsparkling wine making according to the Classical Method\ncomparisons with different territorial production realities.\n\nWine contest\, sunset aperitif and gala dinner\nAlso scheduled for Monday 14 is the super panel of official tasters from Ais Sicilia and a number of journalists and restaurateurs who will try their hand at the wine competition\, decreeing blindly the best labels according to type and color. The competition will include in closing the presentation of the “Alberto Gino Grillo Award” for the different categories. \nAlso scheduled is an aperitif with sunset buffet at “Casa Diodoros” on Saturday\, July 12\, and the following evening\, that of Sunday\, July 13\, a gala dinner under the stars by chef Nino Ferreri of Bagheria’s “Limu” restaurant\, a Michelin star\, and chef Salvatore Gambuzza of the “Marriott Mangia’s Brucoli Resort” restaurant. \nDulcis in fundo and unfailing are the tasting counters at the closing of the event. On Monday\, July 14\, in fact\, starting at 6:30 p.m. it will be possible through admission ticket to participate in tastings of dozens of Sicilian wineries at the “Kalura Gardens” of the Madison Restaurant in Realmonte. From 11 p.m. onward the now traditional cake cutting that will end with the proverbial saber rattling of sparkling wine bottles by sommeliers. \n“Sicilia in Bolle” program 11th edition July 7\, 12-13-14\, 2025\n\nMonday\, July 07. ‘Nzolia Agrigento – 9 a.m. – Mixology contest “Marisa Leo Memorial Award” \nSaturday\, July 12. SUMMARY:Jazz & Wine in Montalcino
DESCRIPTION:Jazz & Wine in Montalcino: the festival born from the collaboration between the Banfi winery\, the Rubei family of the Alexanderplatz in Rome and the Municipality of Montalcino is back\nJazz & Wine in Montalcino. Great artists and quality glasses in a magical atmosphere to celebrate the happy union between jazz music and the city of Brunello. \nFor the 28th edition\, the festival presents a program featuring artists such as Enrico Pieranunzi\, Kenny Barron\, Malika Ayane\, Nicola Piovani\, Fabrizio Bosso and Javier Girotto\, Avishai Cohen \nFrom July 22 to 27\, Jazz & Wine in Montalcino returns.\nNow in its 28th year\, the festival is a collaboration between the renowned Banfi winery\, the Rubei family of the Alexanderplatz Jazz Club in Rome and the Municipality of Montalcino. \nIn these 28 years\, thanks to its original formula\, in which a cultural reality such as Alexanderplatz and a true patron such as Banfi collaborate side by side\, Jazz & Wine in Montalcino has attracted many of the most famous international and Italian jazz artists to its stage. Artistic direction by Eugenio Rubei\, who follows in the wake of the vision of its longtime artistic director\, Giampiero Rubei. The festival offers space for the most diverse proposals of the international jazz scene\, opening up to sporadic forays into pop: a mix of languages that wins and convinces by consecrating this billboard as one of the most beloved ever\, followed by an audience that – over time – continues to grow. \nTuesday\, July 22\nIt starts on Tuesday\, July 22\, in the picturesque setting of Castello Banfi\, with LEGEND OF JAZZ KENNY BARRON TRIO. Considered one of the world’s greatest jazz pianists\, celebrated for his lyrical and refined style\, Barron has recorded more than forty albums as a leader. He has also received numerous awards\, including 13 Grammy nominations and the title of NEA Jazz Master. For more than a decade he has led a close-knit trio with Kiyoshi Kitagawa on double bass and Johnathan Blake on drums. \nWednesday\, July 23\nOn Wednesday\, July 23\, also at Castello Banfi\, comes ENRICO PIERANUNZI TRIO. On stage alongside the well-known pianist\, an absolute excellence of Italian jazz\, will be Francesco Petreni\, a Sienese drummer of remarkable technical-musical quality\, and the phenomenal Danish double bassist Thomas Fonnesbaek\, with whom he has a long-standing collaboration from which intense and overwhelming albums have resulted. A trio not to be missed\, considered among the best European ensembles. \nThursday\, July 24 \nOn Thursday\, July 24 \, the festival moves to the medieval walls of the Montalcino Fortress where\, exclusively for Tuscany\, singer-songwriter MALIKA AYANE will perform. With five appearances at the Sanremo Festival\, she has won two “Mia Martini Critics’ Awards.” Six albums and numerous collaborations with artists such as Bocelli\, Cremonini\, Jazzanova\, to celebrate her fifteen-year career she is back live with Malika Ayane at Teatro 2024. \n Friday\, July 25\nA performance of great stature will take place on Friday\, July 25. On stage NICOLA PIOVANI ORCHESTRA with “Notes on the Margin\,” a kind of autobiographical tale commissioned from Nicola Piovani by the Cannes Film Festival in 2003 (under the title “Leçon Concert”). In the wake of memories and anecdotes\, the Maestro retraces some of the great encounters that have marked his path. From Federico Fellini\, fondly remembered for his small foibles and mastery as a director\, from the Taviani to Vincenzo Cerami and Roberto Benigni\, with episodes narrated with lightness and sincerity. Life experiences between music\, cinema\, and theater that Piovani recounts by accompanying them with the notes of his piano\, along with saxophone and double bass. Telling in music helps to understand the meaning of the tale of Piovani who emphasized “I do not remember a single moment in my life when there was not music.” \nThe concert is in collaboration with Winenews\, which strongly wanted the great artist in Montalcino\, on the Jazz & Wine stage. \nSaturday\, July 26\nOn Saturday\, July 26\, ahead of their 20th anniversary\, “Latin Mood\,” a group led by JAVIER GIROTTO and FABRIZIO BOSSO with “Desde cuando\,” return to the stage of Jazz & Wine in Montalcino. A new album\, a renewed opportunity to produce new music in that infinitely varied language that is Latin Jazz. In the concert\, along with new compositions\, there will be no shortage of the group’s historical songs from previous albums\, “Sol” and “Vamos.” \nThe 28th edition of Jazz & Wine in Montalcino closes on Sunday\, July 27. Featuring AVISHAI COHEN QUARTET\, one of the most original and acclaimed trumpet players on the world contemporary jazz scene\, known for his personal sound and constant artistic research. Joining him on stage are Jonathan Avishai on piano\, Yoni Zelnik on double bass and Ziv Ravitz on drums. His music continues to push the boundaries of traditional jazz\, establishing him as one of the most innovative voices of his generation. \nGeneral Information\nArtistic direction: Eugenio Rubei (Alexanderplatz Jazz Club in Rome\, Sound&Image) \nAll Jazz & Wine in Montalcino performances will begin at 9:45 p.m. \nFor information \njazzandwinemontalcino.it \nfoundationbanfi.co.uk \nReservations at Vivaticket.com link – Infoline: 892 234

SUMMARY:Bolle in Vigna 2025 - Nicosia Estates
DESCRIPTION:Bolle in Vigna 2025 – Tenute Nicosia: The Metodo Classico of high altitude\, from Etna to the Andes\nAll set for Etna’s most effervescent event. Organized by Tenute Nicosia in collaboration with the Spumanti dell’Etna Association. by Francesco Chittari\, Bolle in Vigna is now in its sixth edition. The traditional event dedicated to Metodo Classico will be held on July 23 in the beautiful setting of the Nicosia family’s historic vineyards in contrada Monte Gorna\, Trecastagni. \nBolle in Vigna was born from the great passion for the Metodo Classico of Tenute Nicosia\, which for more than 15 years has been producing sparkling wines on Etna with the area’s native grape varieties: nerello mascalese and carricante. Thanks to its long experience and expertise in the field of Metodo Classico\, today Tenute Nicosia offers a range of labels with great personality\, capable of expressing the terroir’s potential to the fullest with aging on the lees for up to 60 months. It was precisely from Tenute Nicosia’s sparkling wine vocation that the desire arose to create a moment of encounter and in-depth study to spread the culture of the Metodo Classico\, through Etna’s versions and those made by producers from other Italian and foreign territories. \nThe Masterclass\nEvery year Bolle in Vigna offers an in-depth look at a particular theme related to the world of Metodo Classico. This year’s edition will be dedicated to the versions produced at high altitudes\, a theme that is not only linked to the territory of Etna\, but is also highly topical in relation to the consequences caused by the climatic crisis\, which is driving the search for vineyards at higher and higher altitudes to ensure ideal ripening of grapes with high levels of acidity. \nOn Wednesday\, July 23\, at 6:45 p.m.\, the Masterclass “Bubbles between Heaven and Earth\, the Classic Method of Altitude” will be held\, led by Daniela Scrobogna\, chair of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Sommelier Foundation. This year’s blind tasting will touch on some of the highest peaks of the Metodo Classico in Italy and the world\, comparing sparkling wines from Etna (‘A Muntagna for its inhabitants) with others from various territories\, even very different and distant from each other\, but united by the high altitude of the vineyards and a viticulture that can be defined\, in many cases\, as “heroic”: 8 high-altitude labels characterized by the fresh and crystalline profile\, typical of mountain wines. \nThree Saints Party\nAt 8:30 p.m.\, the traditional welcome saber rattling will kick off the festivities of the “Sosta Tre Santi Party\,” which once again this year features a program full of surprises\, music\, entertainment and prestigious guests\, who will take turns in the living room among the vines curated by the editorial staff of Living in The City\, this edition’s media partner. There will be no shortage of bubbles\, with the tasting counters of the latest disgorgements of the Metodo Classico Blanc de’ Noir\, Blanc de Blancs and Rosé Sosta tre Santi labels and the Etna Doc Bianco and Rosso wines from Tenute Nicosia‘s contrada Monte Gorna and contrada Monte San Nicolò\, the prestigious Trento Doc Ferrari sparkling wines and the cuvées of the famous Champagne maison Palmer & Co. \nIn the food area\, accompanying the kitchen team of L’Osteria di Cantine Nicosia\, led by Chef Salvo Baudo\, will be live preparations by some of the protagonists of the Etna gastronomic scene. Uzeta Bistrò and Bavetta\, interpreters in Catania of the new-generation osteria formula; the pizzeria Crescenzio in Giarre\, one of the best pizzas in Sicily according to Gambero Rosso; Forno Biancuccia with its bread made with whole-wheat flours from Sicilian durum wheat\, included in the Slow Food Travel circuit and awarded for the third consecutive year with the Three Breads on the “Bread & Panettieri d’Italia” guide by Gambero Rosso; and then again a corner dedicated to cured meats of excellence with Mortadella ‘Favola’ Gran Riserva from the historic Salumificio di Modena Palmieri and Prosciutto cotto from the renowned Turin-based brand Lenti. \nAlso enlivening the evening is a mixology corner with Amaro ‘Amara‘-based cocktails. Entertainment is assured with live music by the Dammen Quart et (first all-female string quartet in Sicily). Plus the final DJ set\, to close in beauty a rich program organized thanks to the collaboration with Francesco Chittari’s Spumanti dell’Etna Association and the support of main sponsors Comer Sud\, Meccanismi and Natale Nicotra Gioielli 1923. \nUseful information\nFor more information and to purchase tickets for the Masterclass and Party Sosta Tre Santi: \nwww.tenutenicosia.it/bolle-in-vigna-2025-mercoledi-23-luglio-la-sesta-edizione-della-festa-del-metodo-classico-etneo \n
