DESCRIPTION:Weinkost\, the Bolzano Wine Show: Wine stars in Bolzano\, March 27-30 showcasing the best of South Tyrol’s wines at Mareccio Castle.\nWeinkost\, the Bolzano Wine Show\, an edition\, the 98th\, full of events: seminars\, taste workshops\, guided tours\, castle dinners and many special initiatives\, such as booking a personal sommelier! \nBolzano\, wine and Mareccio Castle\nAn exceptional triptych to celebrate the excellence of a tradition at South Tyrol’s oldest wine event. With about 200 labels and 47 wineries from Bolzano\, Oltradige\, Bassa Atesina\, Valle Isarco\, Valle dell’Adige\, Merano and Burgraviato\, Weinkost\, the Bolzano Wine Show\, an important showcase of wine excellence from all over South Tyrol that has been attracting connoisseurs and enthusiasts to the beautiful city\, the capital of wine and good taste\, since 1896 (this is edition no. 98)\, returns to enliven the South Tyrolean capital.  \nFrom March 27 to March 30\, 2025\, the halls of Castel Mareccio\, one of the city’s most atmospheric locations\, will host wine tastings and taste workshops and masterclasses with the participation of important names in the food and wine industry who will take visitors on a fascinating journey to discover labels and flavors of the territory that are as unique as they are surprising. \nThe curtain rises on Thursday\, March 27\, at 3 p.m. with the first tastings during which sommeliers will serve the different wines directly at the table and “tell about” them while also revealing curiosities related to the various wineries. \nNot only that. During the event organized by the Bolzano Tourist Board in cooperation with the Italian Academy of Cuisine and the Sommelier Association\, there will also be musical concerts in the castle’s large courtyard as well as three seminars and three taste workshops. A suitable approach for both enthusiasts and those approaching the “world of Bacchus” for the first time.   \nThe private sommelier\nAn exclusive treat is the “Your Sommelier” initiative. Those who wish to have a dedicated service can book a personal sommelier to be guided through tastings and enter the world of wine through curiosities\, stories and valuable advice.  \nThe Innkeeper in the Castle\nOn Thursday\, Friday and Saturday evenings\, don’t miss the three appointments with “L’Oste nel Castello\,” refined dinners in the Thun Hall of Mareccio Castle. During the evening\, local chefs will delight guests with their dishes\, the result of an extraordinary blend of South Tyrolean cuisine and centuries-old winemaking tradition:  \n\nChef Günther Lobiser of the Signaterhof restaurant in Signato/Renon will present traditional dishes revised with a creative twist. (Thursday\, 3/27/03) \nChef Anton Dalvai of Locanda Alpina Dorfner in Montagna (BZ) will bring to the table the best of local cuisine with an innovative twist. (Friday\, 03/28) \nChef Louis Agostini of Condito restaurant\, an emblem of the contemporary new wave of Bolzano’s culinary scene.\n\nAlso not to be missed are the seminars at the castle: \n\nHelmut Köcher with the seminar Le cuvée\nAndré Senoner with the seminar Biodiversity.\nThe meeting of with winemaker Otto Cologna and cheese affineur Hansi Baumgartner dedicated to wine-cheese pairing.\nSommelier Christine Mayr welcomes visitors with two unique experiences: the first\, “The Rosés… From Savory to Sweet\,” and the second\, “The Bubbles…Tasty\,” the latter paired with fruits and vegetables.\n\nThe guided tour “Bolzano\, City of Wine”\nThen there will be no shortage for the curious (and others) of the guided tour “Bolzano\, City of Wine.” Participants will be accompanied to discover the streets of the center in a very interesting historical-enogastronomic tour. Yet\, the “Vini delle Coste” are yet to be discovered\, wines where the influence of the sea lends flavor and character and where the wealth of variety allows for a thousand expressions.  \nThe event\nTo make them known\, in Lucca\, a splendid Tuscan city\, on March 30 and 31\, ” Vini delle Coste\,” an event open to trade operators\, journalists and enthusiasts\, will be held. First and foremost\, the protagonists will be wines from the Colline Lucchesi\, Colline Pisane\, Montecarlo and Candia\, expressions of the provinces of Lucca\, Pisa and Massa. But there will be no shortage of wines from many regions of Italy that share the sun and the scent of the sea.   \nItaly was envisioned as a bridge in the middle of the Mediterranean that gives unique wines. In the selection of wineries\, from all over Italy\, priority was given to those realities that follow the entire production cycle\, from vineyard to bottle. In this way\, the participation of subjects active in the field of social agriculture was favored\, looking with interest at projects related to the recovery of land in marginal areas\, examples of a heroic viticulture that gives not only fruits\, but also stories to be discovered.   \nThe Royal College of Lucca\nThe event will be held at the Royal College of Lucca\, mentioned as early as the 6th century as a convent attached to the splendid church of San Frediano\, still characterized by the facade where the 13th-century mosaic stands. Remodeled over the centuries\, for more than two hundred years it has presented its present structure. Its history is intertwined with that of Elisa Bonaparte and then with that of Marie Louise of Bourbon. In its rooms winemakers will welcome the public to make their philosophy known.    \nSynergies\n“Vini delle Coste” will tell many unique stories in an informal yet intimate setting. This is demonstrated by the choice of the poster\, designed by Massimo Giacon\, a cartoonist with to his credit collaborations with famous magazines such as Linus\, Elle\, Glamour\, illustrator of campaigns for brands such as Absolut Vodka\, Memphis\, Swatch\, designer of design objects for Alessi\, author for Mondadori of the book “Amami” and much more. A perfect choice because she is world famous for Lucca Comics & Games\, an international event dedicated to comics\, with which there is a strong synergy.
