SUMMARY:Italian Wine Landscape Day
DESCRIPTION:GPVI 2026: The first Italian Wine Landscape Day kicks off on October 20th. From 20 to 25 October\, 30 initiatives in 12 regions and 19 Italian provinces\nOn October 20\, 2026\, the 26th° anniversary of the signing of the European Landscape Convention\, the first Italian Viticultural Landscape Day – GPVI kicks off\, conceived and promoted by the International Association Iter Vitis – Iter Vitis Italia\, the Italian national structure of the Council of Europe Cultural Itinerary dedicated to the culture of vines and wine. \nTwelve regions\, 19 provinces\, and 30 initiatives make up the first National Program\, which\, from October 20th to 25th\, will involve territories and communities across Italy in the spirit of “Landscapes of Lives. Landscapes of life”. \nA program spread throughout Italy\nA widespread calendar of scientific conferences\, public meetings\, guided tours\, cultural itineraries\, wine tourism experiences\, contemporary art exhibitions and installations\, workshops\, educational activities\, and social inclusion experiences\, to showcase the rich Italian winemaking landscape and recognize its value as a cultural\, environmental\, productive\, and identity heritage\, an expression of the history\, work\, knowledge\, and lives of communities. \nThe opening day in Sambuca di Sicilia\nThe inaugural day will take place in Sambuca di Sicilia\, in the heart of the Sicilian Lands\, where Iter Vitis originated. A program that will intertwine landscape education\, memory\, wine culture\, and regional development: from an educational visit to the Vigneto Cana\, dedicated to the new generations\, to the assembly of the Sicilian Wine Production District\, to the opening public meeting at Palazzo Panitteri\, with readings from Wine to Wine by Mario Soldati\, the presentation of the National Program\, and a discussion between institutions\, businesses\, research\, culture\, and tourism on the future of wine-growing regions. \nFrom the Cinque Terre to Pantelleria: the variety of wine-growing landscapes\nFrom the Cinque Terre to Pantelleria\, from the Langhe to Irpinia\, from Franciacorta to Chianti\, from Maremma to Vulture\, the program will traverse some of the most representative landscapes of Italian viticulture\, connecting different experiences and sensibilities. \nFrom the terraces of heroic viticulture to volcanic vineyards\, from archaeological landscapes to designer cellars\, from wine museums to historic villages\, to experiences of social innovation\, the first GPVI offers a reading of the landscape as a living heritage\, the result of the relationships between nature\, culture\, productive activities\, and community. \nContemporary art\, research and sustainability\nThe dialogue between contemporary art and the wine-growing landscape takes on particular importance\, thanks also to the contribution of MetodoContemporaneo. Widespread itineraries through the arts\, wine\, and landscape\, involving wineries\, museums\, foundations\, and cultural sites in various Italian regions. \nAlongside artistic and wine tourism experiences\, the programme devotes space to scientific research\, biodiversity\, environmental sustainability\, the protection of historic landscapes and the challenges posed by climate change\, as well as to the education of new generations\, inclusion and the social role of viticulture. \nA network of protagonists to enhance the territories\nThe Day is brought to life by a complex network of key players: wineries\, public institutions\, universities and research centers\, museums\, foundations\, cultural associations\, territorial development organizations\, schools\, and third sector organizations\, along with professionals from culture\, art\, agriculture\, and tourism. \nThis participation expresses the Day’s vocation to build relationships and collaborations between diverse stakeholders\, recognizing the landscape as the common thread of Italian viticulture’s identities and a strategic resource for the sustainable development of the regions. \nAn annual event for the future of the wine-growing landscape\nItalian Viticultural Landscape Day was born with the aim of becoming an annual national event dedicated to understanding\, protecting\, and enhancing grapevine landscapes\, promoting a growing awareness of their value and the shared responsibility for their conservation and transmission to future generations. \nFrom Sambuca di Sicilia to vineyards throughout Italy\, the first edition thus begins a collective journey of knowledge\, participation\, and collaboration to preserve and enhance the extraordinary diversity of Italy’s wine-growing landscapes. \nGiornata del Paesaggio Vitivinicolo Italiano – GPVI 2026\nPaesaggi di vite. SUMMARY:Throughout Italy - MetodoContemporaneo
DESCRIPTION:From October 23 to 25\, the MetodoContemporaneo event returns: a series of itineraries exploring art\, wine\, and the landscape at 14 Italian wineries\nFrom October 23 to 25\, 14 wineries in 8 Italian regions will open their doors to the public free of charge for the second edition of the networking event promoted by MetodoContemporaneo\, the first Italian observatory dedicated to the dialogue between contemporary art and the wine-growing landscape\, created by the University of Verona and BAM! Strategie Culturali. \nThis year\, the initiative supports the first National Day of the Italian Wine Landscape\, organized by Iter Vitis. \nOn October 23\, 24\, and 25\, 14 wineries across 8 regions will open their doors free of charge for the second edition of MetodoContemporaneo. Featuring itineraries that blend art\, wine\, and landscape\, this networked event—born from Italy’s first observatory on contemporary art and the wine-growing landscape—is being promoted this year by the University of Verona in collaboration with Iter Vitis and Nemo Monti Comunicazione. \nThree days and a single itinerary spanning the entire peninsula\, from Piedmont to Sicily\, to discover some of the Italian wineries that have made their connection with art\, architecture\, and culture an important part of their identity. Wineries\, collections\, museums\, and art projects open their doors to the public through guided tours\, talks\, and free experiences (by reservation)\, creating a “spread-out museum” that tells the story of the region through the interplay of wine\, art\, and landscape. \nThe Iter Vitis International Association\nThis year\, the project is further enriched by a partnership with the International Association Iter Vitis\, which conceived and promoted ITER VITIS – Les Chemins de la Vigne en Europe\, the Council of Europe’s 25th Cultural Route dedicated to vine and wine culture\, and coordinates the Iter Vitis Italia network. \nThis collaboration comes at a symbolic moment: the MetodoContemporaneo calendar is in fact part of the First Italian Wine Country Landscape Day —GPVI\, the new observance established to recognize the cultural\, historical\, and landscape value of vine and wine culture across Italy\, scheduled for October 20\, 2026\, the date of European Landscape Day. \n“We are extremely pleased to have so many Italian wineries participating\, representing the excellence of the union between wine culture and contemporary art. MetodoContemporaneo is a project created to map\, study\, explore\, promote\, and develop this phenomenon. This year\, for the online event\, we have partnered with Iter Vitis\, one of Europe’s leading organizations dedicated to promoting the wine-growing landscape as a vehicle for culture and dialogue. Through this collaboration\, the University of Verona is helping to launch the First National Wine-Growing Landscape Day.” Luca Bochicchio and Monica Molteni\, project leaders MetodoContemporaneo for the University of Verona. \nContemporary Method 2026\nOnce again this year\, in a mosaic of shared experiences\, each winery will offer an activity designed to engage wine tourists\, art enthusiasts\, industry professionals\, and local communities through guided tours and free experiences — bookable through the individual wineries’ channels— that bring together winemaking tradition and artistic and cultural heritage. \nThe initiative was launched to highlight the connection between art and wine as a driver of cultural and regional development\, to share best practices already implemented by individual wineries\, and to foster new relationships between wineries and those working in the cultural sector. This initiative reimagines the relationship between wineries and the local community\, promoting a sustainable way to explore the region and contributing to the creation of a new cultural landscape. \nThe first edition\, which took place in October 2025 and featured 14 wineries from north to south\, drew 766 visitors\, confirming the growing interest in initiatives that combine contemporary art\, wine\, and the local region with a focus on sustainable cultural tourism. \nWith its second edition\, MetodoContemporaneo continues its work to build a national network capable of bringing together experiences from different regions and highlighting the role of wineries not only as places of production but also as spaces for cultural creation and sharing\, in harmony with the landscape and the communities that inhabit it. \nTHE PROGRAM\nFRIDAY\, OCTOBER 23\nCa’ del Bosco | Erbusco (BS) – 10:30 a.m.\nGuided tour of the Ca’ del Bosco facilities and collection.\nReservations: visite@cadelbosco.com\nVia Albano Zanella 13\, Erbusco (BS) \nPerno Castle | Monforte d’Alba (CN) – 3:00 p.m.\nTour of Perno Castle: historic home of the Giulio Einaudi publishing house.\nReservations: castellodiperno.it/visite-e-degustazioni\nPerno hamlet\, Vicolo Roma 21\, Monforte d’Alba (CN) \nFeudi di San Gregorio | Sorbo Serpico (AV) – 3:00 p.m.\nFeudi di San Gregorio: a venue showcasing site-specific works from the company’s BeCurious project alongside a prestigious loan from the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation Collection.\nReservations: prenota@feudi.it\nCerza Grossa\, Sorbo Serpico (AV) \nCastello di Ama | Gaiole in Chianti (SI) – 4:00 p.m.\nGuided tour of the collection.\nReservations: enoteca@castellodiama.com\nLocalità Ama\, Gaiole in Chianti (SI) \nAgricola Bellaria | Roccabascerana (AV) – 5:00 p.m.\nGuided tour of the Agricola Bellaria winery and tasting of Irpinia wines.\nReservations: info@agricolabellaria.it\nVia Fontana / Cerasuolo\, Roccabascerana (AV) \nBosca / Palazzo Irreale | Canelli (AT) – 5:30 p.m.\nBosca Cathedrals and Fragments of Duration.\nReservations: info@palazzoirreale.com\nVia G.B.
