DESCRIPTION:Vinointorno 2026: one of the most anticipated festivals in Central Italy returns to Olevano Romano\nOlevano Romano is preparing to host a new edition of Vinointorno\, the event dedicated to wine and quality food that over the years has become one of the most interesting events in the Lazio food and wine scene. \nBorn in 2013 from an idea of the Extrawine Events association\, the festival brings hundreds of labels from all over Italy to the village of Terre del Cesanese every year\, along with artisanal producers\, tastings and routes dedicated to the culture of taste. \nWine as a tale of territory and identity\nMore than just a wine event\, Vinointorno is a true experiential journey that focuses on the relationship between wine\, territory and conviviality. \nAmong the alleys and squares of Olevano Romano\, the public will be able to taste wines from many Italian regions\, with a special focus on small artisanal productions and the grape varieties that are the identity of the Lazio region\, starting with Cesanese. \nAlongside the wine trail\, the event also highlights local cuisine through street food\, gourmet cicchetti and traditional dishes prepared by the village businesses. \nTastings\, producers and taste trails\nPast editions have hosted dozens of wineries from all over Italy\, with tasting counters dedicated to great reds\, territorial wines\, bubbles and artisanal productions. \nThe format includes widespread tasting routes\, meetings with producers and in-depth moments dedicated to contemporary food and wine culture. DESCRIPTION:Sea and Vitovska in Morje 2026: June 26 and 27 at Duino Castle\, Karst celebrates the area’s iconic wine\nMare e Vitovska is the annual rendezvous with the most famous indigenous grape variety of the Trieste\, Gorizia and Slovenian Karst\, organized by the Association of Karst-Kras Winegrowers in collaboration with local restaurants in the picturesque location of Duino Castle. \nTastings with food pairings by restaurateurs from the province of Trieste and beyond; a guided tasting by the AIS of Trieste\, a conference with the theme “Vitovska\, wine of the Karst\, an expression of its territory and those who cultivate it. Resistant to the trends of fickle viticultural fashion. What future has viticulture linked to native wines and its terroir?” \nCorner shops with typical Karst products such as wines\, cheeses\, cured meats\, sweets\, honey and extra virgin olive oil will be set up. \nThe Vitovska\nVitovska is a white grape variety that has always been grown in the province of Trieste and in areas of neighboring Slovenia. The origin of the name is still uncertain\, but the grape variety is probably of Slovenian origin. Some claim that the origin of the name comes from the Slovenian word vitica (grape vine).   \nUnlike other varieties whose ancient or recent origins are known\, Vitovska can be considered a native variety; in fact\, there is no trace of other varieties with which it can be identified in other regions of the Mediterranean\, and its history has been lost in the folds of centuries of local tradition\, reaching\, through a long process of adaptation and selection\, the current characteristics that allow it to give results in the red lands of the Karst where it is able to withstand\, whipped by the Bora\, the cold winters and the drought of the hot season. \nThe wine made from the Vitovska grape variety is straw yellow with greenish hues; a dry wine\, fresh in acidity\, with persuasive fruity hints of Williams pear and sage\, savory\, full-bodied\, with a mineral note. Pleasant palate and pleasantly bitter finish.  \nProducing wine on the Karst is extremely difficult\, pure heroic viticulture: tearing out from the rock\, meter by meter\, with the pickaxe\, spreading a layer of fertile ferrous red soil painstakingly removed from the sinkholes and planting a vine in it. \nToday Vitovska is queen of the Karst\, a unique territory in the world. \nThe Program\nWednesday\, June 24 \nTAKE a tour of the vineyard\, discovering Azr.
