DESCRIPTION:The Great Terroirs of Barbaresco: The 5th edition of the Go Wine event will take place on October 24 and 25\, 2026\, in Alba\nWine tasting and guided tastings. A major event dedicated to Barbaresco’s M.G.A. wines and a comparison with other Nebbiolo wines from Piedmont. \nIt takes place in Alba and is now in its fifth year: the event has officially been included in the general program of the Alba International White Truffle Fair and has been rescheduled to the weekend beginning Friday\, November 1. \nIt is “The Great Terroirs of Barbaresco\,” an event conceived by Go Wine and scheduled for October 25 and 26 in Alba\, at the elegant Calissano and Fenoglio Rooms of the Hotel Calissano\, during the 95th edition of the Alba International White Truffle Fair. \nThe event aims to showcase a great wine like Barbaresco through its territory\, its various geographical designations (cru)\, and encounters with its producers\, highlighting the differences and richness of the appellation’s various sites. \nA tasting designed to explore “in the field” the richness of the production region and the distinctive characteristics of its various geographical designations\, and to encourage tasters and the public to reflect on the importance of the “soil-territory” factor in the greatness of a wine like Barbaresco. \nThe program includes wine tastings hosted by the wineries themselves and exclusive masterclasses. \nOne room will be dedicated exclusively to a tasting area where other wines made from the Nebbiolo grape variety will be presented: a wine shop will select wines from the Barolo\, Roero\, Nebbiolo d’Alba\, Albugnano\, and Alto Piemonte appellations. This selection aims to broaden the event’s offerings for the general public visiting the city of Alba over the weekend. \nThe Masterclasses\nFor those interested in more in-depth tasting sessions\, two Masterclasses are scheduled for Saturday\, October 24: at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. \nSaturday\, October 24 – Hotel Calissano\, Sala Palio \n2:00 p.m. – Terroir across the four municipalities covered by the appellation regulations – a comparison of the 2023 vintage\nTasting of 6 wines\n4:00 p.m. – Barbaresco compared with great Italian reds\nTasting of 6 wines \nHow to Participate \nThe tasting at the tasting counter will be held in two sessions.\nTickets are on sale on the Go Wine website at a special discount. \nSaturday\, October 24\, and Sunday\, October 25\, 2026: \n\nFirst session: 11:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.\nSecond session: 2:30 p.m.–6:00 p.m.\n\nThe tasting ticket includes unlimited tasting at the Barbaresco tasting counter and admission to the themed stations showcasing the other facets of Nebbiolo. \nThe event is held with the support of the CRC Foundation
