DESCRIPTION:Mare&Mosto  – Le Vigne Sospese: the event dedicated to Ligurian excellence lands for the first time at Genoa’s Palazzo Ducale\nMare&Mosto – Le Vigne Sospese\, the event dedicated to the wine\, oil and flavors of the Ligurian territory  returns in 2026 for its 11th edition and chooses a new venue. Sunday\, June 7 and Monday\, June 8   the event organized by Ais Liguria – Italian Sommelier Association takes place in Genoa\, in the elegant spaces of Palazzo Ducale in Piazza De Ferrari\, marking a new important turning point for the event dedicated to Ligurian wine enthusiasts and professionals. \nThe event program features two days entirely dedicated to Ligurian wines and oils: \n\nmore than 80 producers representing the eight regional appellations (Rossese di Dolceacqua\, Ormeasco di Pornassio\, Riviera Ligure di Ponente\, Valpolcevera\, Golfo del Tigullio-Portofino\, Colline di Levanto\, Cinque Terre and Colli di Luni)\na significant presence of extra virgin olive oil producers\, protagonists with their production of Olio Dop Riviera Ligure.\n\nHost of the event: the Etna Doc\nAs in every edition\, an extra-regional guest winery is also present. Protagonist of 2026 is the Consortium for the Protection of Etna Doc Wines. It participates with dedicated producers\, workshops and laboratories. For the first time\, this year’s guest consortium comes from southern Italy. This represents an element of great value and further confirms Mare&Mosto’s role as a landmark event in the national food and wine scene.   \nWine tasting and more\nAmong the highlights of the edition were the awards ceremony for the Ais Regional Selection Competition Eccellenze Olearie Dop Riviera Ligure and the competition for the   Best Sommelier of Liguria 2026.” \nThe fulcrum of the two days is the Hall of the Great Council in the Ducal Palace\, where\, from noon to 7 p.m.\, wine enthusiasts and insiders have the opportunity to meet the more than 80 producers present and taste the best wines and oils of the territory. The offer is then enriched by a rich calendar of meetings\, workshops and master classes. Appointments led by wine experts to learn more about grape varieties\, territories and tasting techniques.  \nThe Loggiato Minore hosts a dedicated food area created in collaboration with Mentelocale Eventi and Catering and designed as an integral part of the initiative’s experiential journey. Not a simple gastronomic space\, but a journey through taste\, where different thematic islands tell the story of Liguria through authentic products\, dishes and flavors. An opportunity to enhance Ligurian cuisine and its excellences\, involving the public in an experience capable of exciting even through the palate.   \nSaturday\, June 6 preview: Rolli and vine tours from Ponente to Levante\n\nMare&Mosto is anticipated by a day dedicated to the discovery and enhancement of the region and Ligurian wine and food tourism. On Saturday\, June 6\, the public can participate in routes and experiences that cross the region from the West to the East\, to the heart of Genoa with the Palazzi dei Rolli\, interweaving wine\, culture\, landscape and traditions of the area. \nThe first “What the Rolli don’t say” itinerary is dedicated to the Palazzi dei Rolli\, a UNESCO heritage site. Palazzo della Meridiana\, Palazzo Lomellino and Palazzo Tobia Pallavicino open their doors for an unprecedented guided tour in which the frescoes and decorations are read from the perspective of conviviality. These tours include the   “Colli di Luni – The Land of Vermentino.”\, in which participants stop between Sarzana and Molicciara\, with visits to the Il Monticello farm and the Giacomelli farm;  “From the Petronio Valley to the Graveglia Valley.”\, with a visit to the La Ricolla farm in Ne to continue to the Pino Gino farm in Castiglione Chiavarese; in western Liguria\, the tour  “Discovering the Arroscia Valley”  accompanies the audience between the Maffone Estate in Pieve di Teco and the Bruna winery in Ranzo; finally\, closing the program is the tour of  Dolceacqua\, leading participants between the Terre Bianche estate and the Alessandro Anfosso estate in Soldano. \nAll tours depart from Victory Square (Genoa) on Saturday\, June 6 at 9 a.m. Reservations are required at www.maremosto.it. \nThe program on Sunday\, June 7: Meetings\, masterclasses\, tastings and the award ceremony for the Ais Eccellenze Olearie Dop Riviera Ligure Regional Selection Competition\n\nThe first day of Mare&Mosto\, Sunday\, June 7\, as per tradition is dedicated to the public of enthusiasts and “wine lovers.” \nThe event opens in the Minor Council Hall of the Ducal Palace with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and institutional greetings. At 12:30 p.m. it is the turn of “The New Generations Tell Their Own Stories: the future of wine in the hands of young people.” A moment of dialogue and insight among different generations united by their passion for wine\, led by Antonello Maietta\, president of Ais. At the center of the debate is the theme of the evolution of wine communication with the aim of preserving its cultural heritage by valuing its roots but being open to change. In the Fireplace Hall\, at 1 p.m.\, Ligurian Riviera Ligure PDO oil and Ligurian Taggiasca Igp olives in brine are the protagonists of the workshop “How to Taste Oil. How to taste olives\,” by Luigi Caricato of Olio Officina and Roberto De Andreis\, a leading expert in sensory analysis and tasting.    \nThis is followed by the award ceremony for the winners of the “Regional Competition Selection Ais Eccellenze Olearie Dop Riviera Ligure.” \nThe meetings continue in the afternoon in the Sala del Camino: at 2:30 p.m. “Vite in Riviera Summer Vibes: Sparkling Wines and Rosés from Western Liguria\,” a masterclass dedicated to rosés and bubbles from the Ligurian Riviera di Ponente by the Vite in Riviera Business Network presented by Brand Ambassador Jacopo Fanciulli. At 4 p.m. with the Association of Moscatello di Taggia Producers and the voice of Eros Mammoliti\, it’s time to discover all the secrets of “Moscatello di Taggia: the wine of the Popes\,” a historic wine of the Riviera di Ponente\, once reserved for the tables of Popes and Kings.  \nClosing the first day\, at 5:30 pm\, an all-female masterclass: “Le Sbarbatelle.” A guided tour to delve into the wines of the territory\, discovering stories\, identities and production choices that directly reflect the peculiarities of Liguria\, highlighting a new generation of producers under 40 capable of expressing energy\, expertise and a contemporary vision of wine. \nThe program on Monday\, June 8: Meetings\, masterclasses\, tastings and the awarding of the Best Sommelier Competition of Liguria 2026\nThe day of Monday\, June 8\, dedicated to an audience of industry and insiders\, opens at 10:30 a.m. in the Minor Council Hall with the meeting “Beyond the slope: drones and extreme viticulture.” Giovanni Minuto\, director general of Cersaa\, and Massimo Perotti of Eurodrone Academy will present the Hero-Vine project\, geared toward making Ligurian heroic viticulture sustainable without distorting its soul. In Sala del Camino\, at 1 p.m.\, the masterclass “Etna Doc Wines: the slopes of the volcano and its districts” is scheduled\, a sensory journey led by director Maurizio Lunetta to learn more about one of the most dynamic and fascinating appellations in the Italian wine scene: the slopes of Etna\, characterized by volcanic soils\, high altitudes and strong temperature ranges\, give this viticulture an extraordinary identity made of elegance\, freshness and complexity.   \nThe program continues in the afternoon. At 4 p.m. in the Sala del Camino\, Mattia Ferrari\, Ais speaker\, and Riccardo Collu\, Onaf Genova delegate\, curate the workshop Ligurian Wines and Cheeses: a meeting of valleys. They enhance the flavors of cheeses from Ligurian mountain pastures with a selection of wines proposed by the experts.  \nMonday\, June 8 culminates\, at 3 p.m.\, with the public final of the “Best Sommelier Competition of Liguria 2026.” It is a regular event that for years has been the icing on the cake of the Mare&Mosto program. The winner\, proclaimed “Best Sommelier of Liguria 2026” at 5 p.m.\, will be eligible for the national semifinals for Best Sommelier of Italy.  \nThe meeting dedicated to schools “Conscious Drinking”\nMare&Mosto 2026 was anticipated by the meeting “Conscious Drinking – Wine and Young People.” It was a preview addressed to male and female students from different hotel institutes in the Ligurian territory. It was held on Wednesday\, May 6 at the Salone di Rappresentanza of Palazzo Tursi in Genoa.
