On Saturday, November 28, and Sunday, November 29, 2026, The Westin Excelsior in Rome will host the Christmas Edition of the Rome Wine Expo, an event dedicated to promoting Italian and international wines through tasting stations, meetings with producers, and guided tastings.
The event offers a journey through different regions and appellations, with a particular focus on the diverse expressions of Italian vineyards and the role of terroir in shaping wines. In addition to open tastings, the program includes themed masterclasses that explore specific wine types and production areas in depth.
This special edition serves as a preview of the sixth edition of the Rome Wine Expo, scheduled for March 13 and 14, 2027, at the same venue.
Masterclasses and Program
Saturday, November 28, will feature events dedicated to wine and holiday food pairings. Among the announced topics are Panettone & Panettoni, an in-depth look at sparkling wines titled “Bubbles—What a Passion!”, a masterclass dedicated to Nebbiolo and the terroirs of Barolo, as well as a session on the world of gin. There will also be a session on the professional courses and master’s programs offered by Riserva Grande Academy and the European Sommelier School.
On Sunday, November 29, the tasting booths will remain open until late afternoon; the Wine Challenge awards ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
The event is aimed at wine enthusiasts and professionals interested in deepening their knowledge of wines and meeting the wineries in person. The list of exhibitors is being updated on the official website.
