Lessinia sparkling wines at Made in Malga

https://vino.tv/bollicine-della-lessinia-a-made-in-malga/: The festival dedicated to mountain flavors chooses the classic method sparkling wine from the Lessini Mountains as the official bubbly of the event
The fresh and savory bubbles of Monti Lessini were chosen to accompany the gastronomic excellence of Made in Malga, the most famous event dedicated to mountain flavors.
On the first two weekends of September (September 5-7 and 12-14), in Asiago, sparkling wine made from Durella grapes will be the official bubbly of the kermesse dedicated to mountain cheese and highland excellence, from honey and jams to beer and food. The classic method sparkling wine, born in the high hills between Verona and Vicenza, will have its own dedicated space within the food area, where it can be tasted by the glass with the possibility of comparing different interpretations.
When paired with mountain delicacies, Monti Lessini Metodo Classico will certainly stand out as an indigenous sparkling wine of great depth and personality, able to hold its own with the strong flavors of traditional mountain dishes. Reserves aged over 10 years on the lees will also be on tasting, demonstrating the character of this bubbly capable of beating time. “Being present here with our Monti Lessini Metodo Classico,” points out Gianni Tessari, president of the Consortium for the protection of the wine, “has a special value because in this way we emphasize the strong link with the territory precisely in the year in which the modification of the production regulations becomes effective. From a commercial point of view then, it is worth remembering that our Metodo Classico wants to position itself among the best sparkling wines at the Italian and international level.”
Character of wine, strength of flavors.
This year, in fact, Made in Malga will also open its doors to gourmet cuisine with the delicacies of star chef Alessandro Dal Degan. On the other hand, those who want to delight in traditional dishes in Carli Square will be able to taste knife-cut sheep arrosticini, mountain dishes, tastings of Asiago dop of different ages, potato tortel, and potato gnocchi from Rotzo.
The Asiago Bistrot will be by chef Massimo Spallino, of the Vecchia Stazione Hotel in Roana Canove, who will offer baked lasagna with chanterelles and aged Asiago, Asiago dumplings and pork knuckle with polenta and apple pie, and, in addition, Dolomite Food, with Asiago potato rosti and sauerkraut sausages,
Also starring is mountain pizza with Picci of Asiago and its Pennar and Asiago, pulled pork and caramelized onion pizzas.
“This year Made in Malga takes a step forward,” explains Luca Olivan, event organizer, “managing to bring together the excellence of Lessinia. We have a mountain sparkling wine that many envy us and that will be the protagonist not only at the tasting in Piazza Carli but also in the masterclasses, demonstrating a unique maturity.”
The Lessini Durello DOC
The Lessini Durello appellation, recognized in 1987, has about 430 hectares planted with Durella grapes, spread over the foothills of the Lessini Mountains, between Verona and Vicenza. Today there are 34 wineries associated with the consortium and about 1 million bottles are produced each year, including 700,000 Lessini Durello Charmat and 300,000 Monti Lessini Metodo Classico.
