Just a few weeks to go before Gustus – Wines and Tastes of Vicenza, the event that on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5 at the “Arrigo Pedrollo” Conservatory of Music celebrates the wines of the Berici Hills, Vicenza and Gambellara DOCs. Accompanying the tasting experience will be musical entertainment curated by Conservatory students.

The event again this year devotes space to wine insights with two WineLabs:

  • On Saturday, October 4 at 6 p.m., the public will be able to participate in. Symphony and Territory: how the reds of the Berici Hills sound., a blind tasting that will highlight the most representative wines of the Vicenza area by pairing them with references from other regions. Cristina Mercuri, wine educator and editor of Forbes, will lead the tasting.
  • On Sunday, October 5, also at 6 p.m., the following will be staged. What volcano are you from? a blind comparison of interpretations of Gambellara Classico and white wines from related terroirs in Italy and abroad, led by Sissi Baratella, popularizer, enologist and author of Doctorwine.

Alongside the wine, there is a gastronomic proposal inspired by the excellence of the territory curated by I Giovani Leoni gastronomy (Saturday) and Alle Acque Pizza e Tradizione (Sunday). The event will see the support of taste partners: Consorzio Tutela Formaggio Asiago, Consorzio Formaggio Monte Veronese, Salumificio dei Castelli, GustoTop and, for the wine part, the sommeliers of Fisar Vicenza.

Edition after edition Gustus reaffirms its charitable purpose: part of the event’s proceeds will go toward the restoration of The Crucifixion, a fresco by Vicenza painter Giovanni Vajenti Speranza kept in the Arrigo Pedrollo Conservatory.
