Vins Extrêmes 2025 – International exhibition of wines from heroic viticulture goes on stage at the Fortress of Bard, Aosta Valley

On the weekend of Saturday, Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025, the Fortress of Bard in the Aosta Valley will be the setting for the fourth edition of Vins Extrêmes, the international event dedicated to heroic viticulture-that is, those vineyards exposed to extreme conditions of slope, altitude, soil or microclimate that give the wine a unique character.

Vins Extrêmes offers a rich program: tasting counters with selections of “heroic” wines from difficult and marginal territories, technical masterclasses, round tables on the theme of extreme viticulture, and moments dedicated tomeetings between producers and professionals.

Also scheduled as part of the event is the Mondial des Vins Extrêmes ceremony, a competition dedicated exclusively to these mountain or steep-slope wines, with awards and special tastings.

The Fortress of Bard, a scenic historic fortress, adds a charming atmosphere to the event: walking through the halls and towers of the fortress will be as much a part of the experience as tasting a unique wine. Fortress of Bard

Vins Extrêmes is thus not just a wine fair: it is a voyage of discovery of territories that seem impossible to cultivate, daring vineyards and wines that bring to the bottle the strength of the landscape and the passion of the producer. It is an ideal event for both wine professionals and curious wine-lovers: we will give voice to rare grape varieties, lesser-known styles, terroirs at high altitudes or on difficult soils. Participating means tasting wines born in extreme conditions-snow, slope, rock-and understanding what makes heroic viticulture so special.

In addition, the event is an international window: in addition to Italy, there will be producers from mountains, islands and difficult areas of the world, making the experience truly global.

Doors will be open on Saturday, Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
