Turin – 50 Best Signature Sessions

June 17 - June 21

The World’s 50 Best Restaurants presents details of this year’s program for the 50 Best Signature Sessions, a series of unique luncheons and dinners to be held in and around Turin.

50 Best Signature Sessions, included among the initiatives of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2022, unite chefs from The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list with Piedmont restaurants, offering participants a once-in-a-lifetime experience and an exclusive opportunity to savor the authentic taste of the 50 Best. Between Tuesday, June 17 and Saturday, June 21, these events offer truly unique gastronomic experiences, with a limited number of tickets available for each exclusive event.

The 50 Best Signature Sessions program currently includes:

1. Del Cambio x Le Doyenné – Tuesday, June 17, dinner

Founded in 1757, Del Cambio is renowned for its historically atmospheric spaces, which have hosted such illustrious figures as Mozart, as well as its innovative Piedmontese cuisine, led by chef Diego Giglio.

Del Cambio will welcome Australian chefs James Henry and Shaun Kelly of Le Doyenné, a restaurant located in Saint-Vrain, within the grounds of a chateau 40 km from Paris.

2. Gardenia x Kadeau – Tuesday, June 17, Dinner

Located in a 19th-century mansion in the medieval village of Caluso, the Gardenia restaurant features chef Mariangela Susigan‘s authentic and refined cuisine, attentive to both the seasonality of ingredients and respect for local producers.

For this special occasion, the restaurant welcomes as its guest chef Nicolai Nørregaard of Copenhagen’s Kadeau, a benchmark of New Nordic Cuisine.

3. Shot x Ark – Tuesday, June 17, dinner

Scatto is a restaurant of excellence in Turin signed by the Costardi brothers-a contemporary design space designed to enhance the value of culinary art inspired by the world of photography.

For one evening only, the Costardi brothers will be joined by chef and patron of Arca Restaurant, Jose Luis Hinostroza, for an Italian-Mexican celebration. Hinostroza is known for his ability to reinvent Mexican street food dishes with local ingredients and contemporary techniques. To complete the experience, Arca’s head bartender Peter Sanchez will prepare extraordinary cocktails. This 50 Best Signature Session is sponsored by Tequila Ocho.

4. Azotea x Kjolle – Wednesday, June 18, dinner

Nikkei Azotea cocktail bar and restaurant Nikkei Azotea fuses the flavors of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine. Noemi Dell’Agnello, Matteo Fornaro, and head chef Alexander Robles will welcome Pía León from Lima’s Kjolle.

The winner of The World’s Best Female Chef 2021 award will bring her unmistakable creativity to the menu for a unique event. This 50 Best Signature Session is sponsored by Tequila Ocho.

5. The 50 Best Closing Party – Thursday, June 19.

The 50 Best Signature Sessions are part of this year’s program of events of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, along with the forum chaired by industry leadership #50BestTalks and the Chefs’ Feast, which will anticipate the awards ceremony scheduled for Thursday, June 19 with the long-awaited countdown. In contrast, the 50 Best Closing Party, featuring chefs Mauro Colagreco and Elena Reygadas, will be held on Friday, June 20. The 50 Best Signature Sessions initiative is produced in collaboration with Resy and American Express.

6. Consortium x Willem Hiele – Friday, June 20, lunch.

In the heart of the city, Ristorante Consorzio celebrates the most authentic Piedmontese cuisine, thanks to the mastery of chef Valentina Chiaramonte.

Joining her on Friday, June 20, will be Willem Hiele, a leading Belgian chef who will bring his unmistakable spontaneity and the flavor of Flanders to Italian cuisine.

7. Casa Vicina x Atelier Moessmer Norbert Niederkofler – Friday, June 20, Dinner

Casa Vicina, a family-owned restaurant with more than 120 years of history in the ultimate expression of traditional Piedmontese cuisine, will be featured in an all-Italian evening with chef Norbert Niederkofler Atelier Moessmer Norbert Niederkofler of Bruneck.

Chef Claudio Vicina will collaborate with Niederkofler, who is famous for his Cook the Mountain philosophy, which enhances the ingredients of the Dolomites in a sustainable vision that is deeply connected to the territory.

8. Cathedral Square x Florilège – Saturday, June 21, Lunch

Piazza Duomo in Alba tells its story through the excellence of Piedmontese products. House chef Enrico Crippa will welcome Hiroyasu Kawate of Tokyo’s Florilège to his kitchen, bringing French elegance and the refinement and essentiality of Japanese tradition to a new setting.

Both restaurants are known for their vegetable-based menus and focus on sustainability, offering guests a unique opportunity to enjoy an exceptional dining experience signed by the two leading figures in international cuisine.
