Rome – Bererosa 2025

July 1

Bererosa 2025: On Tuesday, July 1, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., the 14th Edition comes to life at the Villa Appia Antica in Rome to celebrate Italian rosés, a sector on the rise in quality

More than 130 labels in tastings for a tour to discover one of the most fascinating productions of Italian oenology

Bererosa returns to the evocative open spaces of Villa Appia Antica, the location that for five years has celebrated the great still and sparkling rosé wines of the Belpaese, a production that makes quality and identity its strong points.

Appointment Tuesday, July 1, from 5 to 11 p.m. to learn about a selection of more than 130 labels representing the best rosé productions from the north to the south of the Peninsula, discovering the most iconic rosé wines of each region, amid ancient trees and vestiges of ancient Rome.

“Pink wines with geographical indications in 2024 counted one million and 450 thousand hectoliters produced,” says Francesco D’Agostino director of Cucina & Vini, “losing about eighty thousand hectoliters compared to 2021 (5.3%), of which almost sixty thousand are to be ascribed to Prosecco DOC, whose variations have different origins, linked and global market movements. In fact, it remains largely the leading region with about 460,000 hectoliters produced, followed by Emilia Lambrusco Igt close to 135,000 hectoliters. As for rosé wines as a whole, in 2024 we produced pink wines for about two million one hundred and fifty thousand hectoliters, registering a reduction of 7.6 percent over 2021. Basically, the production of certified origin holds, while the process of reduction of simpler productions that do not declare the origin continues.”

Organizational details

As every year, Bererosa will take place with the Walk Around Tasting formula, which will allow the public to taste absolutely fine labels, walking freely through the enchanting Villa Appia Antica, pairing them with a great selection of food proposals. From the seafood specialties of Pescaria, the chain of restaurants made in Puglia, with their fish sandwiches, all also available in a vegetarian version, and the cartocci of fried fish and vegetables alike, to the ever-present Roman pizza stuffed with mortadella from the Sfornaio food truck. There will also be Cosmic Crisp, the apples of the future born from a cross between the Enterprise and Honeycrisp varieties, which can also be learned about with a ride on the Cosmic Crisp hot air balloon. There will be no shortage of space dedicated to extra virgin olive oils selected by Olives Road, and, in addition, the entire tasting trail will be supported by the use of VDGlass’ top-notch glasses.
