Weinkost, the Wine Exhibition: wine takes center stage in Bolzano from March 26 to 29

From March 26-29, 2026 , Weinkost, the Wine Exhibition that has marked the beginning of the summer season for nearly 100 years (this is edition 99), will emphasize Bolzano’s ancient winemaking tradition and “show off” in its manor house: Mareccio Castle, one of the most atmospheric locations in the city. Here, among the courtyard, halls and tavern, guests can participate in a rich program of tastings of the best South Tyrolean wines, culinary events, thematic seminars, taste workshops and live concerts.

  • Finally, on Sunday at 6 p.m., at the conclusion of the Weinkost, there will be a seminar organized by the Vernatsch DNAgroup entitled “the new generation of Vernatsch wines.”
The exclusive table tastings

Exclusive the Tastings at the table. I sommeliers will directly serve the different wines and “tell about” them while also revealing curiosities related to the various wineries. 180 labels from about 40 local wineries, an exceptional selection that has been the hallmark and unique feature of Weinkost since 1896.

Wine&bike, telling the story of wine on two wheels

An invitation to experience Bolzano at a slow pace, following the rhythm of pedaling and the scent of the vineyards, “Pleasures on Two Wheels” is a cycling itinerary that weaves together alpine landscapes, history and wine culture, leading along bike paths from the heart of the city to the rolling hillsides of vineyards, amid striking views and panoramas of the Dolomites.

Starting and ending at Walther Square, the route passes through historic alleys, rivers and neighborhoods with a strong wine character. It touches on landmarks such as Roncolo Castle, Muri-Gries Abbey, Cantina Bolzano and the St. Magdalena area.

Along the way, stops dedicated to wine tasting, culture and local gastronomy (at the Muri-Gries Abbey Winery, Kellerei Bozen-Cantina Bolzano or the many wineries in Santa Maddalena/Santa Giustina, to name a few) enrich the experience by transforming the bicycle into a means of sensory discovery. A journey on two wheels that combines pleasure, movement and tradition to tell the story of Bolzano wine in an authentic and sustainable way
