Rome – Pigneto Wine District 2026

May 9

Quartiere Vino Pigneto 2026 returns in May, the widespread event on natural wines that this year gets a makeover with new paths and new creative spaces

Saturday, May 9 kicks off the third edition of the event dedicated to natural wine, which transforms the Pigneto neighborhood into a grand tasting itinerary with international winemakers, cultural walks and the new creative space VinArt Est

It has now become an unmissable event for natural wine enthusiasts in Rome, the widespread event dedicated to natural wine, which for one day transforms the Roman neighborhood of Pigneto into a large open-air tasting trail.

The event, now in its third edition, involves dozens of venues and many winemakers from all over Italy and abroad, creating an experience that combines wine, meetings and discovery. The event is conceived and organized by SO2 Enoteca, a wine shop and distributor of natural wines rooted in the territory, and Solovino Enoteca, a reality active in the organization of reference events in the sector such as Vini Selvaggi, Convivium Renaissance, Vin’Aia and other projects dedicated to natural wine.

Quartiere Vino Pigneto was created with the aim of enhancing wine as a cultural and territorial expression, focusing on producers who work with respect for the land and people. Protagonists are authentic and artisanal wines, far from industrial logics, told directly by the winemakers who produce them.

What’s New 2026

The 2026 edition introduces new access modes and new spaces dedicated to creativity, designed to make the experience even more fluid and engaging. In fact, to facilitate participation, two pass pick-up points have been planned, where visitors can pick up their goblet and wristband before starting the route: Nuccitelli Square and SO2 Distribution.

At Nuccitelli Square will be the artists, illustrators and cartoonists of VinArt Est, a new project that combines wine with a market dedicated to illustrators, artists and creative people who will exhibit their works all day Saturday and Sunday starting at 12 p.m. Some of them will also be present in selected venues in the neighborhood, enriching the tasting route with artistic interventions and works along the event circuit.

Sunday at Nuccitelli Square will also feature the Ciriola food truck & bar with SO2’s natural wines and the participation of some surprise guest winemakers.

Talks and debates will also be held during the day on Saturday, also at Nuccitelli Square, with a schedule to be published soon on the event’s official social channels.

Another novelty concerns the introduction of two new recommended routes, marked on the map and designed to guide the public among the district’s venues from north to south. This is a way to experience the event more quietly, avoiding crowds and allowing people to discover all the stops along the route.

Quartiere Vino Pigneto is not a traditional fair, but a walking experience: you enter the neighborhood venues, meet the winemakers, taste the wines and listen to the stories that are born in the vineyards.

Not just wine: neighborhood walks and workshops
Quartiere Vino Pigneto is also a time to meet and discover the area: walks will be organized to discover the old taverns and stories of Pigneto. The walks will be led by historian Guido Farinelli of the Bella Storia association, who will accompany participants through stories, anecdotes and urban transformations of the neighborhood. Participation in the walk costs 5 euros per person, and it will soon be possible to book guided tours online, with the possibility of integrating the walk with the event’s tasting route.

The neighborhood’s craft businesses also become an integral part of the event, opening their spaces and welcoming the vintners. Stores, workshops and stores thus become stages along the route, allowing the public to come into contact with the work of artisans and the creative energy that characterizes Pigneto.

How it works

Participating is simple: by purchasing a pass you receive a goblet and bracelet, with which to begin the journey among the participating establishments in the neighborhood. The tastings take place directly at the counters set up in the bars, wine bars and restaurants of Pigneto, where the winemakers tell about their work, the territory they come from and their production philosophy.
On Saturday, May 9, the cash desk for collecting the pass and the goblet will be open as early as 12 noon, both at Enoteca SO2 and at the pick-up point in Piazza Nuccitelli, where it will be possible to start the day with the artists of VinArt Est, food trucks and natural wines. For one day, the neighborhood thus becomes a large natural wine itinerary, where the public can move freely among the different stops.

Main partnerMain partner of the 2026 edition is Necci dal 1924, a symbolic place of Pigneto and cultural and gastronomic reference point of the neighborhood, which will help make the heart of the event even more central and recognizable.
