Terre di Pisa Food & Wine Festival

Terre di Pisa Food & Wine Festival: Pisa once again becomes the capital of taste. Three days of fine wines, sensory workshops, and a celebration of the art of bread-making for World Bread Day.
The program for the 14th edition of the Terre di Pisa Food & Wine Festival is now official . The food and wine festival is organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Northwest Tuscany. From October 16 to 18, 2026, it will transform downtown Pisa into a showcase for the region’s finest food and wine products.
With the publication of the program on the event’s official website (terredipisafoodwinefestival.it), the public and enthusiasts can finally learn all the details about the events, workshops, and masterclasses that will bring the weekend in Pisa to life.
To coincide with National Food Day and World Bread Day, this year’s theme is “The Art of Baking.” It is a tribute to the tradition of leavened baked goods, artisanal breadmaking, and traditional street food, combining the pleasure of good food with a strong focus on sustainable innovation.
The Heart of the Festival: 87 Exhibitors
Once again this year, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II will be the heart of the event. Located in a prime central spot—right outside the train station and at the start of the shopping district—the square serves as a gathering place to showcase the work of local producers. A total of 87 companies and 5 protection consortia will be the stars of this food and wine journey, creating a rich mosaic of flavors: from the DOC wines of the Terre di Pisa to extra virgin olive oil, as well as cheeses, cured meats, craft beers, truffles, and traditional pastas.
Baked Goods Take Center Stage
Among the highlights are the “Le mani in pasta” masterclasses led by Antonio Pio Campanella, the World Champion of Contemporary Neapolitan Pizza. The exploration of leavened products continues with the conference “From Grain to Bread,” sponsored by CNA and the Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture at the University of Pisa and the Association of Urban Agricultural Bakers. Moderated by journalist Luca Martinelli, the event will delve into the value of breadmaking from field to table. The highlight of Sunday’s program will be the “Cecina 2.0: The Challenge of Pisa’s Yellow Gold” contest, in which four historic local pizzerias will compete to reinterpret the traditional recipe under the joint evaluation of a technical jury and a popular jury.
Wines, guided tastings, and local specialties
The wine masterclasses are back at the Salone Borsa Merci, led by critics and industry experts.
The event kicks off on Friday with an in-depth look at the Montescudaio DOC, led by Alessandro Balducci (AIS Pisa). The program continues on Saturday with “Terre di Pisa Atelier: The Art of Detail in Designer Wine Glasses,” presented by Simon Staffler (editor-in-chief of Falstaff Italia). Sunday will feature masterclasses on local white wines led by Riccardo Gabriele and a focus on the unique microclimate of Riparbella led by Dario Pantani (FISAR). Enriching the program will be sensory workshops organized by ONAF, featuring original pairings such as “cacio gelato,” the pairing of blue cheeses with passito wines, and the combination of olive oil and cheese, alongside ONAS-led tours dedicated to cured meats and Pisan pork products.
And much more at the Pisa Food & Wine Festival
The festival continues to be a family-friendly event. In the center of the square, the new Kids’ Area has been set up—a place where play meets learning. Through creative workshops, children can explore the culture of good food while having fun.
The experience is enriched by seminars on food culture organized by the Nutrafood Center at the University of Pisa, guided tastings by Aperiolio, and events hosted by the Agorà of the Circolo Mazzei. The event is rounded out by the Extra Festival itineraries, designed to guide visitors as they explore the museums, the Lungarni, and the streets of the historic center.
All scheduled events (master classes, workshops, seminars, and conferences) are completely free.
