Gambero Rosso Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary: On October 25 and 26 at La Nuvola in Rome, the 2027 Guides will be unveiled, and two days dedicated to wine, dining, and pizza will take place
Forty Years of Gambero Rosso
Gambero Rosso will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2026. The publication’s history began on December 16, 1986, with an eight-page insert attached to *Il Manifesto*, conceived and edited by Stefano Bonilli. Since then, the editorial project has expanded to include magazines, guidebooks, television, training programs, events, and digital content, keeping pace with the evolution of the Italian food and wine sector.
The 40th-anniversary celebrations will take place on October 25 and 26 at La Nuvola in Rome, with two days dedicated to the presentation of the 2027 Guides and a series of tastings, award ceremonies, meetings, and culinary events.
The two-day event at La Nuvola will bring together producers, chefs, pizza makers, restaurant owners, industry professionals, journalists, and food enthusiasts, offering an overview of the top establishments featured in the Gambero Rosso 2027 Guides.
The Program for October 25
The first day will be dedicated to wine, featuring the presentation and awards ceremony for the 2027 Guida Vini d’Italia. The producers and award-winning wines from the new edition will be presented, along with a special recognition for ten wineries to mark Gambero Rosso’s 40th anniversary.
In the afternoon, the program will continue with tastings of the 2027 Tre Bicchieri wines, the finalist wines, and a selection of rare wines and old vintages. There will also be masterclasses and tastings dedicated to products selected by the Top Italian Food 2027 guide.
The event will therefore offer an opportunity to compare different expressions of Italian wine, through the wineries and labels selected by the guide.
October 26: Dining and Pizza
Monday, October 26, will be dedicated to dining and pizza, featuring the presentation of the 2027 Guide to Italian Restaurants and the accompanying awards ceremony.
The program will continue with a lunch featuring the best Italian pizzas and, in the afternoon, with the presentation of the 2027 Italian Pizzeria Guide and its awards.
The day will conclude with an aperitif featuring Trento Doc wines and a gala dinner dedicated to the “Tre Forchette” award, attended by representatives from some of the restaurants recognized by the guide.
