Chianti Lovers Week

Chianti Lovers Week, from May 5 to 11 across Tuscany comes the first widespread event dedicated to Chianti Docg
The Chianti Wine Consortium’s event: more than 40 initiatives including tastings, treks, visits to wineries and the grand finale at the Manifattura Tabacchi on Sunday, May 11. President Busi: “We want to tell the story of wine in a new way, leaving institutional contexts to meet people in the places of their daily lives” Chianti goes in search of its lovers.
From May 5 to 11, the Chianti Wine Consortium is launching the first edition of Chianti Lovers Week, a week of widespread events that will bring Chianti Docg to the streets, venues, places of culture and conviviality in Florence and throughout Tuscany. Lovers will not be the ones looking for Chianti but, for the first time, Chianti will be going to them.
A new and dynamic way to tell the identity of one of the most iconic Italian wines, including tastings, immersive experiences and contaminations with cinema, art and music. Responding to the Consortium’s call were more than 40 entities including restaurants, wine shops and wineries, ready to celebrate Chianti in its special week. And alongside the official appointments taken care of directly by the Consortium, there is a rich program of independent events that cross the entire region: from Impruneta to Empoli, from Pisa to Arezzo, from Siena to Montepulciano, Chianti will be the protagonist in tasting dinners, themed aperitifs, trekking between the rows and cellar visits organized by historic producers and young realities.
7 days, more than 40 events spread all over Tuscany. In particular:
On Tuesday, May 6, Chianti will headline the “Shopping Night” at La Rinascente, in partnership with Savino del Bene Volleyball, for a special toast with the team returning from the Champions League Final Four.
Thursday, May 8, comes the “Wine & Cinema Experience” event at Nana Bianca: an immersive masterclass between tastings and cult movie scenes in which Chianti is the protagonist. Saturday, May 10, spotlight on the former Monastery of St. Ursula with “Rewriting History”: guided tours, live art and tastings at an extraordinary site that opens exceptionally to the public.
Grand finale on Sunday, May 11 at the Manifattura Tabacchi with the “Chianti Lovers Closing Party”: a party open to the public among free tastings, excellent street food, swing and vintage DJ set with La Màquina Parlante and dancers from Studio Swing 22 Florence. The ticket includes screen-printed goblet and glass bag to enjoy the experience in style.
“With Chianti Lovers Week we want to tell the story of our wine in a new way, leaving institutional contexts to meet people in the places of their daily lives,” explains Giovanni Busi, president of the Chianti Wine Consortium. “It is a celebration, of course, but also an act of trust in the vitality of our territory, in a wine culture that knows how to evolve without losing its roots. In this week, Chianti will be everywhere: close, accessible, shareable. Just the way we like it.”
Chianti Lovers Week is promoted by the Chianti Wine Consortium.
