Cortona – Chianina and Syrah

Chianina and Syrah, in Cortona March 7-9, 2025, in two beautiful locations. The event celebrates Good Living in the land of Tuscany in the largest festival dedicated to the great excellence of the Valdichiana.

A three-day culinary event, preview of the great Syrahs, meetings, cultural gatherings, conferences, music, masterclasses, cooking demonstrations, presentation of craft activities related to food and wine, and gala dinners with the participation of big names in Italian cuisine. Guests will be the great Italian and international Syrahs that will nominate Cortona to become the capital of Syrah.

The locations

The historic Etruscan town of Cortona with its ancient palaces, narrow alleys and artisan workshops has always been home to Chianina & Syrah. The 2025 edition will be hosted by theformer Sant’Agostino Convent, at 40 Via Guelfa, dating back to the 13th century and now used as a convention center. Its rooms, organized around the cloister frescoed with episodes from the life of St. Augustine, will feature conferences, master classes, cooking shows and tastings.

The Signorelli Theater, located in the square of the same name and designed in perfect neoclassical style by Carlo Gatteschi in 1854, will instead host the two gala dinners scheduled for March 9 and 11.

The program

A rich program that includes two gala dinners with great chefs from all over Italy, more than 15 starred chefs, journalists, wine and food experts sommeliers, wine producers and great wineries, tastings of the great syrahs of Cortona with the extraordinary participation of great Italian syrahs and as special guests the French Syrahs.

The big grill lit to taste His Majesty The Chianina IGP Steak cooked over a wood fire, but also burgers and more than 40 restaurants that will offer Chianina and Syrah-based specialties. A special section will be dedicated to Italian haute patisserie and artisanal ice cream.

A large area will be dedicated to children who will be able to taste Chianina roasts and hamburgers and become, for a turn, chefs, grillers and ice cream makers.

Your ticket to the “A Bite and a Sip” exhibition will give you access to tastings of more than 40 Syrah-producing wineries and Chianina and Syrah dishes offered by local restaurateurs and chefs from Italy as well as participate in cooking shows and other events included in the ticket.
