Cantine a Bordo 2026: Discover Upper Piedmont aboard the Vigezzina

Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte and Ferrovia Vigezzina-Centovalli take you on a unique experience between taste and nature.

March 15, 2026 sees the return of “Wineries on Board,” the exclusive on-board train food and wine event that transforms a scenic train ride into a tasting tour dedicated to the excellence of the Upper Piedmont, paired with a special menu designed for the occasion.

An original experience that combines the charm of slow tourism by rail with the great wines of the area, along one of the most striking rail routes in northern Italy.

A journey through alpine vistas and great wines

The event takes place aboard a convoy of the Vigezzina-Centovalli Railway, departing from Domodossola station. Participants will receive a gourmet box with local specialties before boarding and will be able to experience a food and wine itinerary immersed in the landscapes of the Ossola Valley and the Vigezzo Valley, among forests, small villages and stunning mountain views.

The train will travel the route to the village of Re, then return to Domodossola, offering a complete experience that blends nature, wine and conviviality.

Nebbiolos of Upper Piedmont protagonists

At the center of the experience are the wines ofAlto Piemonte, narrated directly by the producers. An opportunity to delve into the different expressions of Nebbiolo in such vocated territories as Gattinara, Ghemme, Boca, Lessona, Bramaterra and the other appellations protected by the Consortium.

The tastings will be accompanied by a special menu designed to enhance the characteristics of the wines, in a balance between local culinary tradition and pairings designed to enhance structure, freshness and aromatic complexity.

What lies ahead:

• Blind tasting of 4 wines selected by the Nebbiolo Alto Piemonte protection consortium, a guarantee of quality and uniqueness.
