Monforte d’Alba – The Great Terroirs of Barolo

April 12, 2025 @ 11:00 - April 13, 2025 @ 18:00

Now in its 16th year, I Grandi Terroir del Barolo 2025 is a weekend dedicated to in-depth field studies of the new vintage of one of the world’s greatest wines, Barolo.

The appointment is Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13 in the splendid Palazzo Martinengo in Monforte d’Alba. The format includes tasting counters with the direct presence of vignerons, master classes and visits to the winery, to concentrate in one weekend the “on-the-field” knowledge of the new vintage of one of the world’s greatest wines.

The event has grown in recent editions, keeping intact the character that inspired its birth. Indeed, it is an extraordinary opportunity for in-depth study of Barolo and its terroir, enhancing the distinct geographical mentions that make up the production area.

On Saturday, April 12, the Barolo Master’s program is scheduled: a day in which you can deepen your field knowledge of this wine between lectures, tours of the production area and tastings.

During the two days there will be a number of guided tastings conducted by journalist Gianni Fabrizio, editor of Gambero Rosso’s guide to the Wines of Italy. These are in-depth tasting sessions on Barolo and moments of comparison with Valtellina and its subzones. The comparison tastings between Barolo and Valtellina will take place thanks to the collaboration of the Consorzio di Tutela dei Vini di Valtellina present during the Masterclasses to tell about terroir and wines.
