Incontri Rotaliani 2025

Rotalian Encounters 2025 — Teroldego meets Syrah: the fourth edition weaves together taste, culture, and conviviality
Incontri Rotaliani is growing and renewing itself. The wine and cultural festival, organized by the Consorzio Turistico Piana Rotaliana Königsberg with the patronage of the municipalities of Mezzolombardo, Mezzocorona, and San Michele all’Adige (Trento), returns on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 October 2025.
L’edizione 2025 vedrà protagonisti l’autoctono Teroldego Rotaliano, i Syrah delle regioni di Cortona (Arezzo) e Côte Rôtie nella Valle del Rodano.
Saturday, October 25
- At 10:00 AM, the San Pietro Theatre in Mezzolombardo will host the wine talk “Wine and Landscape: Stories of Vines, Roots, and Authentic Territories” — conversations between Piana Rotaliana, Cortona, Etna, and Burgundy, moderated by Luciano Ferraro, chief editor at Corriere della Sera.
- In the afternoon, however, from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Cantina Martinelli is the venue for the walk around tasting, with more than 40 labels of wines and spirits, including Teroldego Rotaliano and Syrah from the host regions, accompanied by tastings of local gastronomic products and grappa-based cocktails.
- The day closes at 8 p.m. at Cantina Rotari with the dinner Incontri di gusto. Three territories on a plate, a culinary journey combining Trentino, Tuscany and France in an unusual and surprising menu. Each course will also be enhanced by music and pairing with different wines.
Sunday, October 26
Sunday is entirely dedicated to wine labs.
- 10 a.m. in Cantina Rotaliana with Caccia al territorio: blind tasting of Syrah and Teroldego. The experience, led by wine educator and sommelier Adua Villa, invites participants to recognize and compare different terroirs and wines.
- 11:15 a.m. at Azienda Agricola Foradori Common roots, different expressions: dialogue between Teroldego and Syrah with Professor Attilio Scienza to explore the genetic affinities and expressive differences of the grape varieties, highlighting how the ampelographic context influences the wine.
- At 12:30 p.m. in Cantina Dorigati Teroldego Reloaded: young producers tell their stories between glasses and gastronomic tastings, a workshop animated by producers from the area who, with the conduction of Roberto Anesi, wine educator and Best Sommelier of Italy 2017, tell their vision for the future of this grape variety.
- at 2 p.m. with Time Capsule: Teroldego Yesterday and Today, a tasting at the Edmund Mach Foundation Winery. Divina Vitale, journalist and Gambero Rosso contributor, will lead the meeting, comparing past and present vintages to capture the evolution of the grape variety over time.
- At 3 p.m. instead, we move to Distilleria Bertagnolli for L’incontro che non ti aspetta: grappe, cheeses and cigars tasting, where Francesco Bruno Fadda, editor of the Spirito Autoctono guide, will accompany the discovery of pure grappa and enhance its characteristics by pairing it with local cheeses and cigars.
- at 4:15 p.m. in Cantina Endrizzi with Teroldego&Syrah: a journey between Piana Rotaliana, Cortona and Côte Rôtie, led by sommelier and journalist Andrea Gori to tell about two varieties from different but related territories.
Each wine lab is limited in number and has a participation fee.
Finally, during Sunday it will be possible to participate in several wine experiences. Among the many activities offered, one will be able to discover, through a guided tour, the legendary story behind Cantina Donati’s Teroldego Sangue di Drago, savor the encounter between Albert’s pizza and glasses of Teroldego Rosato at Azienda Agricola De Vescovi Ulzbach or immerse oneself in the encounter between wine and art at Azienda Agricola De Vigili. Different experiences that intertwine conviviality, culture and taste, offering different perspectives to experience the territory.
