Amarone in the Capital: The Consortium for the Protection of Valpolicella Wines comes to Rome, with the most prestigious wineries that have been protagonists of the “Amarone world” for generations.

The intensity of Amarone invades the Eternal City. It will be the monumental Acquario Romano complex (Piazza Manfredo Fanti) that will host Amarone in Capitale 2025, the event organized by the Consorzio Tutela Vini Valpolicella as part of the “Quality Heritage of Europe” program, which, for its fourth edition, promises wine lovers and the eno-curious a unique sensory experience. On the program, an evening of tastings, masterclasses and unprecedented pairings for a turn of the glass to discover the great red wine of the main Veneto appellation.

Detailed Program

Wednesday, June 4, 2025

• 5 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. – Opening of the tasting tables. An opportunity to taste – in the presence of the producers – not only Amarone but also other Valpolicella wines.
• 5 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. – Tasting Corner. To enrich and amaze the palate, there will be a corner dedicated to Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, an official partner of the event, and an exclusive area reserved for Cigaro Toscano.
• 6:30 pm: Masterclass “Amarone Riserva: time and ideas shaping excellence”. U n tasting curated by AIS and with contributions from producers tracing the qualitative research that has marked the evolution of the King of Valpolicella (admission subject to availability by writing to segreteria@aislazio.it).
• 7:30-8:30 p.m. – “Red on Ice,” a scenic aperitif in which Valpolicella DOC will be revealed in a new and – literally – cool guise, enhancing the flavors of the territory with a contemporary twist.

Amarone in the Capital events are free and open to the public (except for the invitation-only dinner) upon registration at the Eventbrite link and subject to availability.

“Quality Heritage of Europe” (EU Reg. No. 1144/2014) is promoted by the Consortium for the Protection of Valpolicella Wines and the Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese Consortium. Co-funded by the European Union, the plan has a three-year duration and contemplates the implementation of specific activities in Italy and trade fair participations in France and Germany to increase European consumers’ awareness of the benefits of quality agri-food products, particularly those with the PDO and PGI labels.
