Barbera d’Asti Wine Festival returns November 7-10, 2025: a journey through youth, sustainability and great tastings

Asti is preparing to host in Piazza Alfieri the second edition of the Barbera D’Asti Wine Festival, scheduled for November 7-10, 2025. A widespread event that celebrates the area’s wine excellence in an experiential journey that combines tradition, innovation and sustainability.

After the success of the first edition, the Festival is back with an even richer program designed to engage industry professionals, the press, wine lovers and new generations.

“The Barbera D’Asti Wine Festival,” says Vitaliano Maccario, President of the Consortium, “represents a unique opportunity to enhance the Barbera grape variety and our 4 Docg and 9 Doc wines, increasing the international visibility of Monferrato and its appellations. An appointment that combines wine promotion and territory discovery.”

The program of this second edition

The event opens on Friday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. with an institutional talk dedicated to the topic of sustainability, attended by experts, Consortium representatives, press and authorities.

Saturday , Nov. 8 will feature a show cooking by a resident chef from a starred restaurant. This will be followed by the opening of the Institutional Stand with labels from participating wineries. From 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. there will be a sensory aperitif with blind tastings of the main appellations protected by the Consortium (Barbera, Albarossa, Albugnano, Freisa, Grignolino, Ruchè), accompanied by seasonal gastronomic proposals from the area.

On Sunday, Nov. 9, Alfieri Square will welcome the publicfrom 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with two rounds of tastings. Visitors will be able to meet producers, taste wines at tasting tables or participate in sommelier-led sessions.

On both Saturdays and Sundays, from 6:30 p.m. onward, the Institutional Counter will be manned by sommeliers with the labels of participating companies with gastronomic offerings alongside.

There will be no shortage of thematic masterclasses, meetings with industry journalists, and in-depth moments for the press and enthusiasts.

The Festival will conclude on Monday, November 10, with a day reserved for professional operators (restaurateurs, wine merchants, buyers, sommeliers) and the press. Visits to local wineries are planned with a focus on sustainable wineries led by young entrepreneurs.

The Barbera D’Asti Wine Festival is promoted by the Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato, in collaboration with Go Wine, and is part of the European project Born Sustainable, which unites the consortia of Barbera d’Asti and Vini del Monferrato, Roccaverano DOP and Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco.
