Bronte – 100Etna

September 5

100Etna: an event showcasing the volcano’s diverse food and wine culture. Bronte celebrates wines, haute cuisine, and “all-female” masterclasses

The 100Etna event returns on Saturday, September 5, 2026. This food and wine festival was conceived and curated by Irene Foti, a hospitality entrepreneur and the driving force behind the restaurant La Fucina di Vulcano in Bronte (CT). New features this year include a masterclass on rosé wines and the creations of Resident Chef Sandro Chiù

Launched in 2024 with the aim of exploring and bringing together the many facets of volcanic viticulture and food and wine culture, the event reaches its third edition this year, further solidifying its core mission: to tell the story of the volcano in its entirety, through a wide range of wine and culinary products united by excellence.

An event bringing together producers, professionals, enthusiasts, and—above all—an audience eager to grasp the essence of this collective narrative, which combines tastings, haute cuisine, and in-depth technical insights.

New for the 2026 Wine Event: The Rosé Masterclass and the Launch of the Trilogy

The big news for the 2026 edition on the wine front is the debut of an exceptional educational and informative series, born from the vision of Lopis and Foti. It marks the start of a trilogy of masterclasses that, over the coming years, will analyze in detail the diverse expressive qualities of Etna wines.

The first chapter, scheduled for Saturday, September 5, will be entirely dedicated to the most eclectic and diverse category of wines from the Etna region: the Rosati dell’Etna.

The tasting, curated by Valeria Lopis, is structured around a central and thought-provoking question: “What is the typical expression of a rosé from the volcano?” The masterclass will explore the different facets of Nerello Mascalese vinified as a rosé. Commentary will be provided by sommeliers Claudio Di Maria and Carmine Galasso, whose sensory analysis will offer insight into the extraordinary evolution of Etna rosés. The discussion will be enriched by the experience and perspective of Maurizio Lunetta, Director of the Etna DOC Consortium.

This first event officially kicks off a trilogy that, in future editions of 100Etna, will explore the white and red wines of Etna.

“100Etna was born out of a deep desire to showcase the true authenticity of our region, bringing together wine and food in a single, grand narrative,” explain the creators, Irene Foti and Valeria Lopis. “This year, through our exploration of rosé wines and the extraordinary culinary creations of Chef Sandro Chiù and Lele Scandurra featuring Bronte PDO pistachios, we will offer a complete and one-of-a-kind sensory experience.”

A Culinary Experience of the Highest Order: Chef Sandro Chiù

Rounding out the sensory experience of 100Etna 2026 will be a high-end culinary experience, designed to highlight the region’s finest products and, in particular, the signature ingredient of the Bronte area: His Majesty, the Bronte PDO Pistachio.

The kitchen will be led by resident Chef Sandro Rinaldo Chiù, who has created a menu for the occasion featuring a variety of culinary offerings that reinterpret Bronte’s “green gold” in original, contemporary ways, all with a perfect balance of flavors.

Another special guest at the event will be the renowned pizza maker from Catania, Lele Scandurra, who will enhance the culinary lineup with a signature creation prepared live: a special dish conceived as a true gastronomic tribute to Bronte PDO pistachios.

Motor & Design: A Preview of the New Audi Cars with Comersud

Highlighting the multifaceted nature and lifestyle appeal of 100Etna 2026, this year’s edition features a unique and prestigious collaboration centered on art, design, and innovation. For the first time during the event, a new Audi model will be previewed, thanks to a partnership with the well-known ComerSud dealership in Misterbianco, alongside works by artist Fabrizio Foti, offering the public a calligraphic vision and reflection on Mount Etna.

A perfect blend of the German brand’s engineering sophistication and the authentic charm of the Etna region, which will offer event guests an even more exclusive visual and emotional experience.
