Castiglione Falletto – Io, Barolo 2026

“Io, Barolo 2026” celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Strada del Barolo on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Castiglione Falletto
The event
“Io, Barolo 2026 ” celebrates the “King of Wines” in the heart of its region of origin with a day entirely dedicated to discovering Barolo DOCG and its producers. The event, organized by the Strada del Barolo e grandi vini di Langa, is now in its thirteenth year and takes on even greater significance as it coincides with the association’s 20th anniversary; for two decades, the association has been promoting and showcasing the Langhe’s winemaking, cultural, and scenic heritage.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Castiglione Falletto, one of the most picturesque villages in the Barolo DOCG production area. For the occasion, the medieval historic center—dominated by the imposing 11th-century castle—will be transformed into a large open-air wine-tasting route, where wine enthusiasts can enjoy an immersive experience featuring exceptional wines and unique views of the hills designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
“Io, Barolo ” offers a unique opportunity to get an up-close look at one of the iconic wines of Italian winemaking, engage with producers, and discover the diverse expressions of Barolo across its various crus and vintages. An event that combines wine tasting, wine culture, and the promotion of the local area, offering visitors an authentic experience in the heart of the Langhe.
The program
From 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., approximately thirty winemakers will take part in a walking tasting tour that winds through the streets of the medieval village. The tour will offer the chance to taste a wide selection of Barolo DOCG, including numerous different crus and vintages, as well as other prestigious local wines.
The 2026 edition also features two tasting sessions, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the small church of Sant’Anna. During these sessions, several producers will share their experiences and present a wine representative of their winery—one that differs from those featured in the main tasting itinerary.
The event will also feature a culinary lineup, including booths run by producers affiliated with the Strada del Barolo and a cooking demonstration dedicated to freshly prepared risottos, helping to highlight the region’s flavors alongside the prestigious wines available for tasting.
