L’Altra Toscana Preview: tasting the new vintages of 13 Tuscan PDOs and PGIs, Feb. 20 in Florence

The Other Tuscany in Brief

Tuscany has rightly been defined as a region highly vocated to viticulture with important areas. On February 20, the appointment with L’Altra Toscana returns, the one that tells the lesser-known face of one of the lands par excellence of Italian wine. This particular Preview thus aims to enhance and communicate the countless diversities that characterize Tuscany. There is in fact an increasing need to go and discover little-known territories and wines that stand out for increasingly high quality peaks. The Other Tuscany represents about 40 percent of the entire Tuscan production. The Other Wine Tuscany encompasses wines from the PDOs and PGIs: Maremma Toscana, Montecucco and Montecucco Sangiovese, Cortona, Chianti Rufina, Terre di Casole, Suvereto, Val di Cornia and Rosso della Val di Cornia, Carmignano, Barco Reale di Carmignano and Vin Santo di Carmignano, and Igt Toscana.

Program

The fourth edition of ‘The Other Tuscany’ preview will take place on Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Palazzo degli Affari in Florence:

• 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. tasting reserved for national and international journalists (who can still stay until 7:00 p.m.)
• 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.: tasting open to industry professionals and winelovers (with pre-accreditation request via email to the Organizing Secretariat)
