Nerello Wine Fest: From the Origins of Nerello Mascalese to the Present, Sunday, September 6, 2026, in Mascali
An evening dedicated to Etna’s iconic wine.
The Nerello Wine Fest brings wineries, professionals, and enthusiasts to Mascali to celebrate Nerello Mascalese through history, tastings, cuisine, and music.
Tasting stations and events open to the public will run throughout the evening from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The Schedule
Sunday, September 6, in Piazza Duomo, Mascali
- 6:30 PM–11:00 PM – Stalls open: Wine tasting featuring wineries from Mascali and Etna.
- 7:00 PM – Masterclass: Contea di Mascali, the cradle of Nerello Mascalese, with Vittorio Cardaci, Santi Natola, and Francesco Currò. Reservation required. Reserve your spot for the Masterclass
- 8:00 PM – Talk on Nerello Mascalese: Origins, Identity, and Future: A discussion on Etna’s iconic grape variety and the region’s prospects.
- 8:30 PM – Cooking Demonstration with Chef Giuseppe Raciti of the Michelin-starred restaurant Zash and Danilo Trapanotto of ONAV. Event by reservation only. Reserve your spot for the Cooking Demonstration
- 9:30 PM – Live musical performance by the Rox Di Leo Trio
