Nizza Monferrato – Nizza is Barbera

Nice is Barbera 2025: From May 9-12, 2025, the charming town of Nizza Monferrato, in the heart of Piedmont, will be transformed into the capital of Barbera.

Nice is Barbera 2025: Four days dedicated to the heart of Barbera, the must-attend event for those who love authentic wine, local flavors and convivial atmospheres.

The event celebrates Nizza DOCG, the highest expression of Barbera, and brings together more than 70 producers from the area who will offer hundreds of labels including Barbera d’Asti, Nizza DOCG, reserves and crus for tasting. The tastings will take place mainly in the “Barbera Forum,” inside the Foro Boario, a true temporary temple of wine, where each goblet tells the story of a unique land, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

But “Nice is Barbera” is not just about wine. During the four days, the historic center will come alive with markets, live music, guided tours of wineries, dinners with winemakers, show cooking and much more. Taverns and restaurants will offer special menus paired with local wines, while squares will host street food and local producers.

For true enthusiasts, there will also be the opportunity to participate in master classes, meetings with producers, and scenic tours among the Monferrato hills.

Program and Opening Hours

Friday, May 9

• 5 p.m.: Opening toast at Garibaldi Square – Foro Boario, with greetings from authorities and producers.
• 6 p.m. – 11 p.m.: Opening of the Barbera Forum at the Foro Boario, with more than 70 producers and 400 labels for tasting.
• 9 p.m.: Eiffel 65 concert in Garibaldi Square

Saturday, May 10

• 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.: Barbera Forum open to the public.
• From 6 p.m.: Start of White Night in the Old Town, with open stores, street food and live music.
• 9 p.m.: Musical performance “I want to go back to the 90s” in Garibaldi Square.

Sunday, May 11

• 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.: Barbera Forum open to the public.
• 3 to 5 p.m.: Crazy Magic Sunday in Alexandria Martyrs Square, magic show for families and children.
• From 6 p.m.: Concerts and DJ sets in city squares.

Monday, May 12

• 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Barbera Forum open exclusively to industry professionals.
