Vendemmiata Romana 2025

September 14, 2025

With the Vendemmiata Romana (Roman Harvest), one of the most beautiful national folk festivals ever revives in downtown Rome on Sept. 14

With Vendemmiata Romana, you’re in for a festive day outdoors with the whole family discovering the biodiversity of vines and grapes and the unique Vigneto Italia vineyard!

A unique opportunity for Romans and others to reacquaint themselves with the grape harvest as a joyous national popular festival in the heart of Trastevere. Planted in 2018 by Maroni himself together with La Sapienza University of Rome, the University of Tuscia and the Rauscedo Cooperative Nurseries, the Vigneto Italia is an absolute unicum: it is, in fact, the first vineyard in the world that encloses in a single place as many as 150 varieties of native grape varieties from each region of Italy. A very rich biodiversity in a single patch of land, subject to the same conditions of sun, wind and water and cultivated exclusively in biodynamic methods. A true experiment that, in 2022 gave birth to its first wine, Somma Sapienza, vinified white and red, both the result of a blend of more than 70 different native varieties.

Among folk dances, themed workshops for young and old, extraordinary tours and artisans,
people will talk about grapes, wine and fully experience the joy of the harvest festival in the heart of the Eternal City.

There will also be tasty street food (not included in the entrance fee).
