Wine Experience in Rome: Abruzzo Wines Take Center Stage at the Ripetta Palace, Combining Elegance and Conviviality
The Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Abruzzo is hosting a glamorous event at the Ripetta Palace for the press, industry professionals, and wine enthusiasts, featuring guided tastings and special guests.
Wines from Abruzzo are coming to the capital for an event dedicated to the press, industry professionals, and wine lovers. On June 18, at the Ripetta Palace, the Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Abruzzo will dedicate a day to showcasing the region’s winemaking excellence through a tasting journey featuring the territory’s most representative wines: whites, reds, sparkling wines, and, of course, Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo, an extremely contemporary wine and a symbol of Abruzzo’s winemaking tradition.
An immersive day featuring tastings, stories about the region, food pairings, and sensory experiences that will bring together journalists, industry professionals, entrepreneurs, content creators, and wine enthusiasts on a journey dedicated to discovering the richness and variety of Abruzzo’s wine culture.
The initiative, promoted by the Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Abruzzo, was launched with the goal of promoting the region’s wine heritage and strengthening its position in the national market by highlighting the identity, quality, and versatility of Abruzzo wines.
Twenty wineries will be participating in a walk-around tasting featuring their most representative wines: Fontefico, Fattoria Nicodemi, Mastrangelo, Buccicatino, Barba, Talamonti, Lidia e Amato, Torre Zambra, Giuseppe Simigliani, Marramiero, Guardiani Farchione, Barone Cornacchia, Agricola Olivia, Citra, Casal Thaulero, Nododivino, Colle Moro, Vini Biagi, Tenuta Terraviva, and Tenuta I Fauri, offering guests a broad overview of the region’s wine production.
““The wine region of Abruzzo is experiencing a period of great maturity and self-awareness. Today, we can present ourselves on the markets with an extraordinary winemaking heritage, characterized by identity, biodiversity, and recognized quality,” explains Alessandro Nicodemi, President of the Consortium. “With this event in Rome, we want to showcase not only our wines, but also the vision of a region that has managed to evolve without losing its authenticity. Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo, along with our most representative appellations, perfectly embodies this blend of tradition and modernity: wines that capture today’s tastes and speak to an increasingly discerning, curious, and international audience,” he concludes Nicodemus.
The program will consist of a series of events designed to engage with different audiences, alternating between in-depth discussions, networking, and tastings.
From 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Sala Dorotea, a press-only talk titled “Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC: A Unique Wine with Distinctive Character,” moderated by actress and sommelier Francesca Valtorta, the event’s patron and star of the VIP Experience dedicated to the press and special guests. This will be an opportunity for discussion and in-depth analysis, featuring journalists, experts, and industry representatives, with the aim of highlighting the distinctive and contemporary value of Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo within the Italian wine scene.
At the same time, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Bernini Room, a traveling wine tasting event will take place for industry professionals and selected guests, offering the opportunity to sample numerous wines and speak with the producers.
Finally, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., the Ripetta Palace’s Corte Giardino will be decked out in elegance for the glamorous evening event on the program, transforming the hotel’s spaces into a setting dedicated to the scents, colors, and atmosphere of Abruzzo’s wine culture. An exclusive, invitation-only experience designed for a select group of guests, featuring tastings, conviviality, and storytelling about the region, all within a sophisticated setting that celebrates the authenticity and distinctive character of Abruzzo’s finest wines.
The event will take place on Thursday, June 18, at 3:00 p.m. in the Sala Dorotea at the Ripette Palace in Rome. The event’s host is actress and sommelier Francesca Valtorta
