From October 23 to 25, the MetodoContemporaneo event returns: a series of itineraries exploring art, wine, and the landscape at 14 Italian wineries
From October 23 to 25, 14 wineries in 8 Italian regions will open their doors to the public free of charge for the second edition of the networking event promoted by MetodoContemporaneo, the first Italian observatory dedicated to the dialogue between contemporary art and the wine-growing landscape, created by the University of Verona and BAM! Strategie Culturali.
This year, the initiative supports the first National Day of the Italian Wine Landscape, organized by Iter Vitis.
On October 23, 24, and 25, 14 wineries across 8 regions will open their doors free of charge for the second edition of MetodoContemporaneo. Featuring itineraries that blend art, wine, and landscape, this networked event—born from Italy’s first observatory on contemporary art and the wine-growing landscape—is being promoted this year by the University of Verona in collaboration with Iter Vitis and Nemo Monti Comunicazione.
Three days and a single itinerary spanning the entire peninsula, from Piedmont to Sicily, to discover some of the Italian wineries that have made their connection with art, architecture, and culture an important part of their identity. Wineries, collections, museums, and art projects open their doors to the public through guided tours, talks, and free experiences (by reservation), creating a “spread-out museum” that tells the story of the region through the interplay of wine, art, and landscape.
The Iter Vitis International Association
This year, the project is further enriched by a partnership with the International Association Iter Vitis, which conceived and promoted ITER VITIS – Les Chemins de la Vigne en Europe, the Council of Europe’s 25th Cultural Route dedicated to vine and wine culture, and coordinates the Iter Vitis Italia network.
This collaboration comes at a symbolic moment: the MetodoContemporaneo calendar is in fact part of the First Italian Wine Country Landscape Day —GPVI, the new observance established to recognize the cultural, historical, and landscape value of vine and wine culture across Italy, scheduled for October 20, 2026, the date of European Landscape Day.

Contemporary Method 2026
Once again this year, in a mosaic of shared experiences, each winery will offer an activity designed to engage wine tourists, art enthusiasts, industry professionals, and local communities through guided tours and free experiences — bookable through the individual wineries’ channels— that bring together winemaking tradition and artistic and cultural heritage.
The initiative was launched to highlight the connection between art and wine as a driver of cultural and regional development, to share best practices already implemented by individual wineries, and to foster new relationships between wineries and those working in the cultural sector. This initiative reimagines the relationship between wineries and the local community, promoting a sustainable way to explore the region and contributing to the creation of a new cultural landscape.
The first edition, which took place in October 2025 and featured 14 wineries from north to south, drew 766 visitors, confirming the growing interest in initiatives that combine contemporary art, wine, and the local region with a focus on sustainable cultural tourism.
With its second edition, MetodoContemporaneo continues its work to build a national network capable of bringing together experiences from different regions and highlighting the role of wineries not only as places of production but also as spaces for cultural creation and sharing, in harmony with the landscape and the communities that inhabit it.
