“Wine and Pairings”: at UmbriaWine 2025 talk with chefs Elia Lunghi, Nicola Cascini and pizzaiolo Andrea Bava

It will be wine, with its ability to dialogue with the kitchen and transform every dish into an experience, the protagonist of the talk “Wine and Pairings,” scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 14, at 5 p.m. in Perugia, as part of the third edition of UmbriaWine.

The meeting will feature three Umbrian interpreters of the new gastronomy on stage:

  • Andrea Bava, a pizza maker who has made research on doughs and pairings his hallmark.
  • Nicola Cascini, a young talent already recognized among the most promising voices in Italian cuisine;
  • Elia Lunghi, a chef who combines technique and creativity with contemporary cuisine rooted in tradition;

A multi-voice discussion that will offer the audience new keys to interpreting the pairing of glass and plate: no longer rigid rules, but harmonies, contrasts and suggestions capable of giving life to original gastronomic experiences.

The talk is part of the program of UmbriaWine 2025 (Sept. 12-14), the festival conceived and promoted by the Open Mind association, with the support of the Perugia Foundation, which returns to animate the most iconic squares of the historic center-from Piazza della Repubblica to Piazza Italia, from the Carducci gardens to Piazza Matteotti-with more than 40 Umbrian wineries, the best regional food trucks, tastings, lectures and debates.

After the success of the 2024 edition, which saw the participation of more than 50,000 visitors, UmbriaWine confirms its vocation: to be not only a showcase of Umbrian wine, but also a place of meeting, comparison and food and wine culture.
