DESCRIPTION
With 400 members, Cantina di Venosa is among the largest wine cooperatives in southern Italy and the largest in Basilicata. In the heart of the Vulture region, in the town of Venosa, the winery has been producing wine since 1957 from an area of about 800 hectares, scattered throughout the neighboring municipalities of Lucania’s extinct volcano, and almost entirely dedicated to the Aglianico grape. Integrated struggle in the vineyard, photovoltaic system in the winery are the basis of the environmental sustainability project, aimed at ensuring a healthier territory, which has centuries of history linked to wine.
