You are beginning to write to us in the editorial office or via social to get more information about the Guide 2026 presentations. Let’s start with the first previews.
As I write this, we are just over a month away from the Oct. 4, when in Milan, at the Principe di Savoia, we will present the 12th edition of the Essential Guide to the Wines of Italy.
We have finally closed it in the editorial office and are sending it to print, both in Italian and English language versions. Hoping to have made few mistakes, but with the certainty that some oversight will have been there for sure. Of guides, with this one, I’ve done 37, never once that there hasn’t been some oversight.
Then there will be award ceremonies and tastings. The latter on Oct. 4 and 5 from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. It will be repeated in Rome on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Spazio Novecento in Eur, from 3 to 7 p.m. Third stop in London on Wednesday, Oct. 22 from 2:30 to 7 p.m. at the Royal Horseguard Hotel, a stone’s throw from Trafalgar. Three stops to present the guide and to meet enthusiasts, press, industry insiders and many producers who will attend.
It won’t be all the awardees, there wouldn’t be room, but we will certainly touch the three hundred wineries between events. That of Milan, in particular, is being noted for becoming a very important event for the industry. It will open the season of guidebook presentations that will then last for the next two months with all the other guidebooks from other publishers and organizations. I am anticipating all this so that you can make a note of it in case you want to attend.

We hope, all of us, that it will at least serve to make a great and beautiful celebration for our wine world., which has been under pressure lately and experiencing a complicated moment. Then, as always, it will be an opportunity to meet many readers, or followers, as you prefer.
