Monti Lessini Sparkling Experience: On November 9 at Villa Cordellina, a tasting dedicated to Metodo Classico sparkling wines made from Durella grapes

The Classic Method of the Monti Lessini

On Monday, November 9, 2026, Villa Cordellina Lombardi in Montecchio Maggiore, in the province of Vicenza, will host the Monti Lessini Sparkling Experience, an event dedicated to the wines of the Monti Lessini DOC appellation and their interpretations of the Metodo Classico.

This is the first edition of the event dedicated to classic-method sparkling wines from the Monti Lessini DOC, the only appellation in Veneto devoted exclusively to this type of production.

From 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., visitors will be able to taste wines from the participating wineries as part of an experience that explores the connection between the wine and the hilly region between Verona and Vicenza, characterized by volcanic soils.

Durella and the Region

The star of the tasting is Durella, a native grape variety with pronounced acidity, which forms the basis of the Monti Lessini DOC Metodo Classico sparkling wines. The appellation is dedicated exclusively to this type of wine and is distinguished by wines in which structure, freshness, and aging potential are central characteristics.

The event offers an opportunity to explore the different interpretations of this grape variety through the wines presented by the wineries, in a historic venue that adds an architectural dimension to the tasting experience.

2:00 p.m. – In-depth masterclass
Led by Filippo Bartolotta, communications specialist and wine educator

4:00 p.m. – “Recognizable by Nature: Identity and Prospects for Sparkling Wines from the Lessini Mountains”
Fabio Piccoli, editor-in-chief of Wine Meridian, will moderate the discussion

5:30 p.m. – Tasting event featuring the finest Monti Lessini wines made using the classic method, exclusively for the press
