Verona – Vinitaly and the City

Vinitaly and the City reignites Verona: three days of toasts for winelovers in the heart of the city
Vinitaly and the City: wine tourism in the spotlight, in a direct thread from the arena to the valpolicella wine route
The heart of Verona beats to the rhythm of wine once again, as from April 10 to 12 it is transformed for Vinitaly and The City, the fuori salone dedicated to wine enthusiasts from all over Italy that every year accompanies the start of Vinitaly with initiatives and appointments dedicated to promoting products, territories and, above all, the culture of wine. With a mosaic of appointments ranging from tastings to masterclasses, from guided tours to literary events and from talks to dance evenings, the three-day event is a unique opportunity to discover, through the lens of a glass of wine, the wonders of the UNESCO World Heritage city, and more.
“In parallel with what will happen at the fair, this year Vinitaly and The City also pushes the accelerator on thewine tourism side,” said Veronafiere president Federico Bricolo. “We have enhanced the urban offer starting with the proposed experiences and expanding the range of action with initiatives and activities that extend even after the event, with the involvement of numerous wineries in the area. Apilot initiative that therefore confirms a format in continuous evolution, already successfully exported to Sibari, Calabria, and under study in new regions.”
Indeed, if the long-awaited marathon of some 70 events including wine talks, tastings, guided tours and literary appointments is confirmed, it is the tasting and experience tokens that shift gears, which this year open – among other initiatives – the gates of the Arena, and embark on a journey of discovery of the Valpolicella Wine Route, with a program of tastings at 15 wineries to be held from April 13 to May 3.
The program in brief
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Friday, April 10 (opening at 6 p.m.) with a toast of Pinot Grigio Doc delle Venezie, official wine for the 2026 edition, and the official opening of the stands downtown. Protagonist, once again, will be the triangle between Piazza dei Signori, Cortile del Tribunale and Cortile Mercato Vecchio.
In Dante’s shadow, the Loggia di Fra’ Giocondo in Piazza dei Signori will host the Grande Enoteca of the Consorzio Tutela Vini DOC Delle Venezie, while the Logga Antica will be dedicated to the magic of Mixology with the most accredited bartenders of the moment.
In the center of the square, the Isola della Scala Rice Fair booth and the Banca Passadore Lounge dedicated to the public: a space of experience between art and wine, surrounded by the striking architecture of what was once the Court of the Seignory of the Scaligers.
Instead, the Old Market Courtyard, which also hosts Wine Talks by Sissi Baratella and the Santa Barbara Mining Trail Foundation, is transformed into the embassy for the wines of the Calabria and Sardinia regions.
The food and wine itinerary continues in the Court Courtyard with Abruzzo, Campania ( Campania.Wine project) and Molise (Palazzo del Capitanio), as well as the spaces of Esselunga and to the selection by Gambero Rosso.
Also returning are the postcard toasts, on the terrace of the 84-meter-high Lamberti Tower, this year signed by the Consortium of Abruzzo Wines.
Among the new features already scheduled is Paolo Massobrio’s Salon of Rare Wines.
