Grattamacco

It has been in existence for nearly 50 years, ever since Pier Mario Meletti Cavallari, a manager from Bergamo and a wine shop owner, decided to find his wine place in Bolgheri. More than 15 years ago it was purchased by Claudio and Iris Tipa, who also currently own ColleMassari in Montecucco, Poggio di Sotto and Tenuta San Giorgio in Montalcino. The wines have not suffered any stylistic setbacks, and Maurizio Castelli continues to oversee production, as he has done since the winery’s earliest days.
