From 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., we’re hosting an afternoon open to wine enthusiasts to taste wines selected by DoctorWine, meet the producers, and explore the tasting stations. The press conference will take place at 1:30 p.m.
Dear readers, after our event in Milan, it’s time to meet in Rome. Today, Saturday, October 10, we’ll be atSpazio Novecento, at Piazza Guglielmo Marconi 26B in the EUR district, to share an afternoon of tastings with you and present the thirteenth edition of the The Essential Guide to Italian Wine, written by Daniele Cernilli and produced in collaboration with the DoctorWine tasting team.
After months of work in the editorial office, the pages of the Guide invite readers to explore the wines in their glasses and to talk with the winemakers. It’s an opportunity to rediscover a favorite wine, learn more about a specific appellation, or discover a winery you haven’t encountered yet.
An Afternoon at the Tasting Tables
The tasting will be open to the public from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. Four hours to freely choose your own itinerary, following your personal tastes or letting curiosity guide you. You can start with a specific region, compare wines from the same grape variety, or alternate between well-known appellations and new discoveries. There’s no need for a rigid plan: even a tip received at the tasting counter can suggest an interesting detour and lead you to discover a bottle you’ll remember.
The value of these events also lies in thedialogue with the producers. Asking how a harvest went, learning about the characteristics of a vineyard, or understanding an aging decision helps us better appreciate what’s in our glass. We at DoctorWine will be there, of course, to offer advice orexchange opinions. The invitation is extended to all wine enthusiasts—whether you’ve been following the Guide for a long time or are discovering our work for the first time.
Schedules and Useful Information
The day will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a press conference to present the Guide. Starting at 2:00 p.m. , the tasting will be open to the press and industry professionals; from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. it will be open to the public.
