Here are the best 69 The best wines from Southern Italy awarded during Sud Top Wine 2024 and selected from more than 500 wines tasted from six regions-Campania, Basilicata, Puglia, Calabria, Sardinia and Sicily-all tasted blind by the jury, which decreed three winning wines for each of the competition’s 23 categories. The Awards Ceremony
La awards ceremony for the wines on the podium in the 23 categories will be held in Taormina on Saturday, Oct. 26,as part of “Taormina Gourmet,” Cronache di Gusto’s event dedicated to the best in food & beverage.
The Best White Wine and Best Red Wine awards will also be given during the ceremony based on the absolute score among all categories.

“Once again with the sixth edition of our competition,” says Fabrizio Carrera, director of Cronache di Gusto and creator of Sud Top Wine – we turned the spotlight on a part of Italy that deserves more attention from international wine critics.
Aside from a few territories that are now true wine stars, there is still so much to discover both in terms of biodiversity and pleasantness, and also in terms of the stories of some particularly journalistically intriguing winemakers.
Our competition is a pleasant confirmation of our attention reciprocated by so many entries from wineries.”
Last year’s winners here:
“It is also interesting to note,” says Federico Latteri, wine writer for Cronache di Gusto and the organizing soul of Sud Top Wine, “ the growth of some wine territories that were little known until recently and are now emerging and, we venture, with a great future. The award is not everything.
In fact, the wines that reach the podium of Sud Top Wine will be involved in a promotional activity both in the United States, with the collaboration of the Colangelo & Partners agency in New York, and in the rest of Europe with tasting sessions of various samples of the award-winning labels sent to trade journalists from various countries.
An important work made possible thanks to the Cronache di Gusto team that worked on this edition together with Federico Latteri: Titti Casiello, Francesca Landolina, Irene Marcianò, Ivana Piccitto, Sara Spanò and Alessia Zuppelli, and partners Picciolo Golf Club Resort di Solicchiata and Auroflex.
On the website www.sudtopwine.com all 23 categories with their award-winning wines and their scores in hundredths will be available.
