First introduced in 1986, the Sanct Valentin collection of the San Michele Appiano Winery. consists of 9 refined and complex wines. These wines are born in the most vocated vineyards in the Eppan area, even above 600 meters above sea level. The name of the line recalls the Renaissance castle of the same name, which is also the protagonist of the labels.
Mountain wines, then, ambassadors of their terroir, characterized by a distinct minerality and rich in elegant aromas, with great aging potential.
The value of the vineyard

Each variety has its ideal location in the vineyard, to get the most out of the favorable microclimate of the Eppan vineyards. Low yields imprinted with quality, careful hand selection and harvesting, followed by an equally meticulous winemaking process are the basis of the project.

A collective commitment to perfection, led by the young winemaker Jakob Gasser. Class of ’94, Gasser approaches the challenges of viticulture with an innovative vision, going beyond the adoption of cutting-edge technologies to re-establish an authentic contact with the natural ecosystem and the laws that govern it.
Tradition, innovation and sustainability

With Gasser, the philosophy of Cantina San Michele Appiano combines critical and conscious openness to the new with respect for traditions, always maintaining a special focus on sustainability. Sustainability is a crucial issue for the future of this historic cooperative in South Tyrol, which has 320 contributing members and 390 hectares of vineyards.
The Sauvignon Sanct Valentin

Particularly emblematic of the Sanct Valentin style is the Sauvignon, one of the flagship wines of Cantina San Michele Appiano. Born from vineyards located between 450 and 600 meters above sea level, it finds in the gravelly calcareous soils and in the strong temperature ranges ideal conditions for developing aromatic intensity, mineral tension and extraordinary elegance.
In the glass it expresses a refined and deep profile, with notes of elderflower, exotic fruit, citrus and herbs, supported by a vibrant freshness and a structure capable of evolving over time with great harmony. A white of character and longevity, an authentic interpreter of the most vocated Alto Adige and of the continuous qualitative research that distinguishes the Sanct Valentin line.
