Cori Civitas Wines – Taste Trips

Cori Civitas Vini – Viaggi del Gusto: in the heart of Lazio a journey through wine, history and biodiversity
Two days dedicated to the authentic flavors of the Cori area
On May 23 and 24, the village of Cori will host a new edition of Cori Civitas Vini – Journeys of Taste., the event promoted by the City of Cori dedicated to the agricultural, food and wine and cultural biodiversity of the area.
For two days the historic center will be transformed into a grand experiential journey through wine, gastronomic crafts, history and landscape, offering the public tastings, guided tours, master classes and meetings with local producers and artisans.
The Cori Doc and the excellence of the Lands of Cori
The absolute stars of the event will be the wines of the Cori Doc, with special attention to the native Bellone and Nero Buono varieties, symbols of the local winemaking tradition. A very ancient history that has its roots in pre-Roman times and still represents one of the territory’s strongest identity elements.
Alongside the wine, the public will be able to discover many of the area’s gastronomic excellences: extra virgin olive oil from the Itrana cultivar, cheeses, prosciutto cooked in wine, traditional breads, artisanal cookies, leavened goods, and earth products that tell the story of the agricultural culture of the Lepini Mountains.
Winery visits and immersive tours between production and territory
One of the most interesting elements of Cori Civitas Vini will be the opportunity to experience the territory directly in the places of production. During the day, in fact, wineries, farms and artisan workshops will open their doors to the public with free tours by reservation.
A valuable opportunity to meet producers up close, observe craftsmanship, and learn more about the link between wine, landscape, and local tradition.
The Garden of Taste among tastings, meetings and masterclasses
The heart of the event will be the “Garden of Taste,” set up in the Garden of the Museum of the City and Territory of Cori, inside the Monumental Complex of Sant’Oliva. Here tasting booths will come to life with wineries, farms and local producers, in a tasting path designed to tell Cori through its most authentic flavors.
During the evenings there will also be masterclasses dedicated to pairings between wine and local products, with guided tastings, taste stories and meetings with sommeliers, producers and restaurateurs. A format that combines popularization, conviviality and enhancement of local gastronomic traditions.
Culture, landscape and identity in one event
Cori Civitas Vini thus confirms its cultural as well as food and wine vocation, transforming wine into a storytelling tool of the territory and its historical identity.
Between tastings, visits to the Museum and the Cloister of Sant’Oliva, medieval glimpses and routes among the wineries, the event offers an immersive experience capable of enhancing not only local production excellence but also the artistic and landscape heritage of one of the most fascinating villages in Lazio.
