Reopens in Menfi La Foresteria Wine Resort: herb garden leads a season between cuisine, wellness and stays surrounded by vineyards, with rooms dedicated to aromatic plants and sea views.
Among vineyards, light and the sea

On the top of a hill overlooking the southwestern coast of Sicily, La Foresteria Wine Resort, nestled in the vineyards of the Planeta family, has just reopened for the 2026 season. Here the agricultural landscape is not just the setting, but an integral part of the experience. The rhythm of the countryside, the scents of the Mediterranean and the view of the sea accompany every moment of the stay.
The reopening ushers in a wider season that also involves the Country House and theInsula Beach Club, in a widespread hospitality system that combines wine, countryside and sea.
Sleeping among the herbs

There are fourteen rooms in the guesthouse, all of them overlooking the countryside and the sea, set in a Mediterranean garden with a swimming pool. Each room is named after an aromatic herb – lavender, rosemary, thyme – creating a direct thread between living room and nature.
The bright and diverse rooms tell of a warm and authentic style, among Sicilian ceramics, Mediterranean colors and private terraces. A cosy and intimate hospitality, designed to experience the slow time of the countryside.
The garden as a sensory experience
The heart of the new season is the garden of herbs, a physical and symbolic place from which the Foresteria’s identity is born. Plants are not just ingredients, but narrative elements that accompany the stay. In the scents, the paths, the cuisine and the moments of well-being.
Also telling the story is a publication dedicated to the herbs of the garden, designed as a sensory guide between Mediterranean tradition and contemporary use of plants.
Cuisine, wine and territory

The cuisine of chef Angelo Pumilia is the natural continuation of this dialogue with nature. The dishes weave memory and contemporaneity, starting with local ingredients and garden herbs to reinterpret Sicilian tradition.
Alongside the restaurant, experiences range from wine and oil tastings to cooking classes and tours of vineyards and wineries to get an up-close look at the Planeta family’s agricultural work.
A resort between wellness and discovery

>>>>>A swimming pool, outdoor spaces, paths through the vineyards and access to the Porto Palo sea complete the experience, along with services dedicated to wellness and discovering the area.
La Foresteria thus becomes a starting point for exploring western Sicily: Selinunte, Gibellina and the wine roads, in an itinerary that combines culture, landscape and taste.
Events and season 2026
The calendar opens with the restaurant’s new menu and, after the Easter dates, continues with the “I Forestieri” cycle. Which brings chefs from all over Italy to Menfi to interpret the territory.
A program that confirms La Foresteria as one of the most interesting addresses for eating and sleeping among the vineyards. Where hospitality becomes a narrative of the landscape.
