The Casato Prime Donne Award 2024 returns and the winners are: Maria Canabal, Winenews, Trebicchieri and Linea Verde.
On Saturday, September 14, 2024, the Casato Prime Donne Award returns to Montalcino.
An appointment that coincides with the beginning of the Brunello harvest.
The harvest, if the weather is favorable, promises to be as excellent and abundant as the legendary 2010 and 2019 ones.

Excellent omens for the Casato Prime Donne winery, the first in Italy with an all-female staff, which funds the Casato Prime Donne Award.
The ceremony of the XXIII edition will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Teatro degli Astrusi in Montalcino.
It will conclude solemnly in the afternoon at Fattoria del Colle, when His Eminence Cardinal Augusto Paolo Lojudice Archbishop of Siena, will bless the new ambulance of the Misericordia di Sinalunga dedicated to Carlo Gardini, Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s husband who recently passed away.
2024 edition awardees CANABAL, WINENEWS, TREBICCHIERI-GAMBERO ROSSO, GREEN LINE
The 2024 “First Woman” is Maria Canabal a charismatic figure in the female food and wine universe with her Parabere Forum, which brings together 400 women from around the world each year to create empowerment.
In 2015 Maria Canabal was recognized among the “Most Influential Women in Gastronomy” and her cookbooks were honored by the Gourmand Cookbooks Awards as “World’s Best.”
In the journalistic sections of the Casato Prime Donne Award, related to those who promote Montalcino and its wines, two of the major portals of national oenology win. Alessandro Regoli and Irene Chiari from WineNews, Loredana Sottile and Gianluca Atzeni of “Trebicchieri” weekly economic magazine of Gambero Rosso receiving the Brunello Consortium Award.
Along with them, the “Special Jury Prize” went to ” Linea Verde” historic RAI 1 program for the episode dedicated to “The Jewels of the Land of Siena,” the latter award to be donated to charity.
By unanimous decision of the Jury, the 2024 edition is dedicated to Francesca Colombini Cinelli who founded the Prize who passed away in 2022.
The Jury includes Donatella Cinelli Colombini (President), Rosy Bindi, Anselma Dell’Olio, Anna Pesenti, Stefania Rossini, Anna Scafuri, Daniela Viglione and the Jury of Honor Silvio Franceschelli Mayor of Montalcino and Fabrizio Bindocci President of the Consorzio del Brunello.
Tuscan youth talent incubator
The Casato Prime Donne Prize comprises a youth talent incubator aimed at enhancing young people capable of inspiring emulation among their peers.
A way of intervening directly in the territory.
Using the visibility and contacts of the prize to stimulate among young people the awareness of how important it is to cultivate their own potential in order to grow themselves and others.
This year’s incubator was about the artist Luigi Corbini, students from class 4° A of the Bettino Ricasoli Agricultural Institute and the Lambruschini Liceo Linguistico of Montalcino.
The communicator Massimiliano Manetti of the University of Siena, pastry chef Andrea Sacchetti of the Nuovo Mondo Pastry Shop in Prato, and 3 goldsmiths from the LAO Jewellery School in Florence, Italy: Martina Bianchi, Beatrice Campagna and Asia Roccazzella.
