Morbegno in Cantina 2026: from September 25th to October 11th, three weekends featuring historic wineries, great Valtellina wines, and local flavors

From September 25th to ’ October 11th, 2026, Morbegno returns to Cantina, an event that brings a widespread journey to the historic center of Morbegno, in the heart of Valtellina, to discover the wines and flavors of the area.

An itinerary between wine and history

For three weekends, historic wineries, courtyards, courtyards, palaces, and cloisters open their doors, transforming the city into a tasting itinerary to be explored on foot. Wine thus becomes the common thread for understanding an important part of Valtellina’s cultural heritage, between places not normally accessible and the expressions of viticulture characterized by terraces, craftsmanship, and a strong territorial identity.

The 2026 edition introduces a significant new feature: the wineries will also be open on Friday evenings, from 6 to 10 pm, in addition to Saturdays and Sundays. The event takes place on the weekends of September 25–27, October 2–4 and October 9–11, with tastings on Fridays from 6pm to 10pm, on Saturdays from 12pm to 10pm and on Sundays from 11am to 6pm.

The tasting routes

Visitors can choose from several tasting tours, built around different interpretations of Valtellina’s winemaking heritage.

Among the 2026 offerings are Rossi e Bio, which compares Valtellina Superiore and Riserve with organic produce; Sforzati e Bolle, dedicated to the dialogue between the structure and intensity of Sforzati and the freshness of bubbles; and Rossi, Bianchi & amp; Rosé, which offers a journey through different expressions of local production.

Added to these are Voices of the Vineyard – from the Producer to the Chalice, housed in the Cloister of Sant’Antonio, where ten small producers can directly talk about their wines, their work in the vineyard and their relationship with the area. It is a particularly interesting formula because it introduces, alongside the guided route, a more direct relationship between winemaker and visitor.

Discovering Valtellina’s heroic viticulture

The tasting thus also becomes an opportunity to learn about Valtellina’s heroic viticulture, that of terraced vineyards and dry stone walls, and to encounter some of the wines that most represent its identity, from Sforzato to Valtellina Superiore.

Morbegno in Cantina allows us to approach this heritage not only through the chalice, but also through the landscape and the stories of those who continue to cultivate the vine in an area where viticulture still requires significant manual labor today.

Not just wine: experiences in the area

Wine is, however, only one element of the experience. Morbegno in Cantina offers a program of activities dedicated to discovering the area, with guided tours of Palazzo Malacrida, trekking and e-biking through vineyards and the landscape, experiences dedicated to oil, viticulture activities, and activities for families and young people.

Among the new features for 2026 is a greater focus on the possibility of experiencing the event differently from the traditional tasting itinerary. The Non-Alcoholic Pass offers a parallel itinerary with juices, infusions, fermented foods, and other non-alcoholic beverages related to the area, while the Wine Jobs Experience addresses the topic of wine professions and training opportunities for young people.

Valtellina wine and gastronomy

Finally, there’s no shortage of connection to Valtellina’s gastronomy: wines are accompanied by traditional local products and preparations, on a journey that brings together wine, food, history, and territory.

The event thus becomes an opportunity to learn about Valtellina through some of its most characteristic expressions, from wine to cuisine, to the landscape and historical heritage of Morbegno.

A new phase for the demonstration

The 2026 edition also marks the beginning of a new phase for Morbegno in Cantina, entrusted for the next five years to SGP Grandi Eventi, in partnership with PLM Servizi, with the involvement of local associations and organizations.

A formula that aims to strengthen the experiential dimension of the event while keeping the relationship with Morbegno and its community at the center.
