Returning to Rome the eighth edition of “IO VINO 2025,” the event dedicated to the selection of native grape varieties Marche and Campania held at the prestigious Courtyard by Marriott Roma Central Park location in the center of Rome. Also this year, the event continues to nurture and keep stable the format to tell about authentic territories guarantors of identity productions.
The event, aimed at specialized operators and the most qualified experts and communicators in the world of wine, is scheduled for Sunday March 16, 2025 (from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.) to promote the history, ampelography and territorial varieties of the central Apennine ridge.
Disclosure, research and insight into indigenous varieties from the Marche and Campania regions are the event’s constants in promoting wine culture.
The format “Io Vino 2025”, as usual, will be offered again to the general passionate and specialized public in a single day, and will feature two native grape varieties in the in-depth masterclasses on Asprinio d’Aversa led by Alessandro Marra, sector expert and editor of the Slow Wine Campania guide, and on the Ribona coordinated by Pierpaolo Rastelli, influential food and wine critic and head guide for the Marche region of Gambero Rosso. During the event there will be the presentation of the first and exclusive book on wine and pizza pairing “Calici e Spicchi” by Antonella Amodio, an influential journalist, sommelier and food and wine enthusiast to promote all combinations of styles and processing techniques.
The Program:
- 11:00 a.m. – Opening of ticket office and accreditation “IO VINO 2025”
- 11:30 a.m. – Opening tasting booths
- 1:30 pm – Presentation of the book Calici&Spicchi and masterclass “The harmony of wine-pizza pairing” by author Antonella Amodio
- 3:00 p.m. – Marche Masterclass: “Ribona: Macerata virtuosities” – Tasting led by Pierpaolo Rastelli, influential food and wine critic and head of Gambero Rosso’s Marche guide
- 5:00 p.m. – Campania Masterclass: “Asprinio: Stairway to grapes” – Tasting led by Alessandro Marra, taster and deputy editor of the Slow Wine Campania guide
- 7:00 p.m. – “IO VINO Critic Award” ceremony for the best wine from Campania and the Marche region
- 7:30 p.m. – Closing of tasting tables and the event
