The King of Wines and the Wine of Kings returns to star in Rome in January 2025, of Nebbiolo nel Cuore, XI Edition.

The unmissable event for all Nebbiolo lovers is just a few days away: on January 12 and 13, 2025, the Grand Hotel Palatino in Rome (Via Cavour 213/M) will host the exclusive Capitoline event dedicated to one of the world’s most beloved grape varieties. A rare opportunity to taste a wide selection of Barolo, Barbaresco and other Nebbiolo-based wines, directly from the producers.

Since the first edition, the event has aimed to highlight Nebbiolo in all its expressions: Roero, Barbaresco and Barolo, Gattinara and Ghemme, Boca and Lessona, Bramaterra and Fara, Sizzano and Valli Ossolane, Colline Novaresi and Coste della Sesia, Valle D’Aosta and Valtellina, Monferrato, Carema and Canavese and the other micro realities scattered throughout our territory.

Nebbiolo nel Cuore is therefore a must-attend event for all wine enthusiasts who, through the tasting of different types of Nebbiolo, will be able to take a real sensory journey to discover territories rich in history and tradition. Through dedicated tasting benches and masterclasses, it will be possible to discover the potential of both the new vintages presented and the new wineries that will participate in the event for the first time. Moreover, as an absolute novelty of this edition, to meet the needs of producers and to encourage a wider participation of operators, the event will be held on Sunday and Monday.

Tasting Stands, Masterclasses and Workshops:

The Event is aimed at the cultural promotion of Nebbiolo and its lands of choice. The Italian wine territory that more than any other is linked to the various terroirs that characterize it and has always been an example of how the territory can and should be enhanced. Through the tasting tables and at the masterclasses it will be possible to evaluate the different territorial declinations of the vine. Great importance will be given precisely to thematic masterclasses-our strength-where the unique terroir of Nebbiolo will be explored.

Nebbiolo App Guide:

Also in this edition, ample space will be provided for the Guide to Nebbiolo and its territories of excellence. A Vademecum for its users, made by means of a’App: “Nebbiolo Guide. Riserva Grande and all the qualified editorial staff of the guide Will present, during this eleventh edition, the new mentions awarded to all the Nebbiolo-based wine producers, who renewed their trust in the organization by sending their samples of both labels put on the market in 2024 and historic vintages. So many wines tasted in this 2024 by Marco Cum, owner of Riserva Grande, creator and patron of Nebbiolo nel Cuore and his staff, with many confirmations but also with multiple novelties and surprises demonstrating the growing quality of the labels tasted.

The Award Ceremony

The Nebbiolo in the Heart Guide will be officially presented on Monday, 13.01.2025 at 2 p.m. in the presence of accredited operators as well.

During the presentation, diplomas will be handed over to the producers of the labels that have obtained the most important awards of excellence: The Gold Bunch – wines with the highest score (the bunches awarded were bronze, silver or gold); The Coup De Coeur – wines that have obtained the gold bunch and that are also endowed with unique and exclusive qualities, so much so as to arouse a strong emotional impact. A novelty related to the awards of this edition: diplomas will also be awarded for some categories of excellence that the editorial staff, also in view of the evaluations that emerged during the tasting sessions carried out, deemed should be mentioned given the great value expressed. Awards will also be given to:

• Best Emerging Winery;
• Best Historic Winery;
• The Winery With The Best Hospitality;
• The Best Sustainable Winery.

Wine Lottery:

Another great new feature of this edition, visitors will be able to win a bottle of Nebbiolo-based wine by drawing lots, simply by downloading the free guidebook app and leaving their details at the reception. The delivery of the won prizes will take place at the Event Space of Del Frate Restaurant, Via degli Scipioni 118, at a date and time to be determined.

• 11:30 a.m.: Masterclass “The Coup de Coeur of The Nebbiolo Guide.” Comparative tasting of wines awarded with the coup de coeur mention. Edited by Michele Panno
• 2 pm: Masterclass. Parallel vertical of Barbaresco wines from the Renato Fenocchio winery in Neive. Langhe Barbaresco. Edited by Marco Cum and Renato Fenocchio
• 4:30 pm: Masterclass the Timorasso: the white revolution of the Colli Tortonesi. Comparative tasting of various crus of Timorasso. Curated by Saula Giusto.

Monday, January 13, 2025:

• 12:00 p.m.: Event presentation to industry professionals with dedicated event
• 3:00 p.m.: “The Nebbiolo Guide” awards ceremony.
