Peck: solid skills, human sensitivity and authentic relationships guide the evolution of a place where every bottle is an expression of culture, passion and research. Roots in history and a keen eye on the contemporary scenario.
Peck has been bringing food and wine excellence to Milan for more than a century, tracing its identity over time as a reference point for all gourmet enthusiasts, in Italy and around the world. The founding basis is that of high craftsmanship that becomes “luxury” in the tailoring of sewing a proposal of sublime value.
Of flagships it has many, and the wine shop represents an important one. A pride of the Peck house, a vault on the lower floor of the store on Via Spadari that ushers in a veritable toyland for lovers and connoisseurs of wine and spirits.
Focus on the quality of large and small companies

Open-mindedness and an absence of bias in evaluation are founding values in the “new era” of the Peck winery, in the precise desire not to judge based only on brand notoriety, but recognizing that both large companies and small niche wineries can offer exceptional quality.
A size that allows a greater appreciation for the intrinsic characteristics of the product, regardless of the size or fame of the producer. Alongside the great blazons, an important research work on small producers, in the desire to offer the widest possible range in a sphere of excellence and to discover increasingly broad and diverse viticultural nuances.
Nearly 4000 references

Striking at first glance is the amount of labels on display and the order in which they are presented. The cellar is a succession of evocative rooms that become veritable treasure chests within which precious gems are kept. From the most recent vintages to true pieces of history, the bottles are neatly laid out on the shelves for perfect storage.
They are nearly 4,000 labels and references under its belt, including wines and spirits, in a proposal built and enriched over time, which also celebrates an important depth. It starts with a showcase representative of the quality that characterizes the proposal, from Italian sparkling wines to champagne goodies. Very rare wines, the icons from Italy, France, Spain, the most important ones on the market.
A well-articulated exposition
The first room is dedicated to bubbles, with a preponderance of champagnes. Big maisons and small vignerons, two sides of the same reality whose common denominator is quality. We then move on to the sections of the reds, from the Baroli of Langa to the crus of Bordeaux (declined in an extraordinary verticality), from the wines of Etna to the best-known wineries of Spain. Passing through all the Italian regions, from North to South in all their peculiarities. And for lovers of full-bodied wines, many are the aging wines.
Also incredibly rich is the selection of whites, a journey that passes through northern Italy, between Adige and Trentino, Friuli and Piedmont, continues to Burgundy, home of Chardonnay, and crosses the Atlantic to the Americas. Even the rosati have their place, wines to be rediscovered and revalued. Then there are varied and interesting proposals of dessert wines, Moscato, Passito, Malvasia, Sagrantino, Muffato and Sauternes, with very rich flavor profiles.
Beware of distilled spirits
Another world that deserves special attention is the world of distillates, precious drinks, the result of work that borders on art, in bottles of inestimable value. In the precious vault, a selection of the most prestigious references from the most exclusive Italian and international wineries. Unobtainable bottles to collect, ideal for big fans and lovers of wine rarities. Then the large formats, the Magnums and the Jéroboams, passing through the Mathusalem. These are the largest, deepest formats, giving rare and unique olfactory and taste sensations.
Space also for the human element

What distinguishes the Peck wine shop, in addition to the extraordinary product offering, is the human element, an essential value for a memorable experience. Extremely knowledgeable and skilled people, who perform great research and selection work of the highest quality, and then become the custodians and storytellers. It is not just a store, but a place where they make wine culture, in an educated approach, able to meet the needs of great connoisseurs and enthusiasts as well as those approaching as novices. The style is to create a relationship with the client, with seriousness and professionalism, and not only with a commercial purpose, which establishes trust, with a view to building a path together.
Professionals at work
This is the common thread that binds in thought and approach Alessandro Zingarello, Food & Beverage Project Manager, and Simona Pera, Wine manager, key figures in the Peck wine shop. Two professionals of great expertise, with important experiences in the sector behind them and landed in Peck respectively at the beginning of 2023 and in October 2022. Personalities capable of giving a new and current face to this reality while maintaining the valuable structure inherited.
Wandering among the shelves filled with bottles becomes an immersive experience; it is as if the space becomes a journey, among the “physical” pages that tell territories and stories and accompany in a translational reading.
The Peck reality enjoys a very high prestige among producers, a condition that guarantees important assignments of high-level wines. All bottles are purchased directly from the producers, no auctions and no parallel market. A great guarantee of quality for the consumer, both in terms of storage and the condition of the products. This creates an asset that attracts customers from all over Italy and even abroad.
The wine shop has been able to capitalize on its historical reputation while significantly innovating its offerings. The strategy of assortment 360 degrees and the ability to offer exclusive references project it as a key player in the Italian wine scene, capable of attracting a varied clientele in target. The financial success of the previous year, with a 35 percent increase in sales (in sharp contrast to the market), highlights the goodness of the choices made.
Alessandro Zingarello’s comment

“The winery establishes itself as a benchmark for high wine and food, thanks to a curated selection, rare wines, remarkable growth in the target segment and a business model based on deep relationships and highly expeditious and personalized service. Customer interaction remains a key point, which is why the proposal must always be balanced between our own thinking and what meets the expectations of those who come to us .”
Precisely with a view to making the experience complete and satisfying, it has been announced in the coming months the launch of a new digital medium, capable of displaying the full range of products in a detailed and graphically appealing manner, including through AI support, overcoming the current limitations of display space.
The management of the winery by Alessandro and Simona (each for his own role) proposes an approach is tailor-made, personalized, very much akin to that of the restaurant business in its ability to offer more sought-after and curious products, stimulating for a diversified target, which is declined into historical and loyal customers, enthusiasts and collectors as well as foreign tourists in search of Italian taste.
Simona Pera’s opinion

“In this constant search and selection work, the following are essential collaboration and confrontation, values that are indispensable for having an ever broader and more passionate vision of the realities that one is going to intercept. I live with great dedication the care of the collection, the ability to motivate my team and to maintain solid ties with producers and suppliers, certain that human value represents the greatest wealth behind the wine “.

PECK: The brand, which now boasts two stores in Milan, was born in 1883, from the intuition of Prague charcuterie maker Francesco Peck. In 2013 it was then purchased by the Marzotto family, which consolidated the brand in its historicity, expanded it and declined it in an international key. Searching for the highest quality of products and supplier network, an identical and distinctive level of service are the fundamental characteristics, which make Peck the temple of Milanese haute cuisine.
