In the heart of the picturesque Forlì countryside, among the rolling hills that unravel from the base of the Apennines to the Adriatic coast, lies a winery that symbolizes the authenticity and evolution of Romagna’s wine-making tradition: Poderi dal Nespoli.
The dream of creating a winery that celebrates the essence of Romagna wine has always been at the heart of this visionary winery, whose history is a journey through generations of the Ravaioli family .
A bit of history
It all began in the 1920s with the opening of a tavern in Cusercoli, followed by the investment in the first farm in 1929 by Attilio Ravaioli. Thus Poderi dal Nespoli was born, a winery that had a remarkable development since the postwar period. The ability of its wines to encapsulate the noblest and most faithful expression of Romagna was the spark that brought the Ravaioli’s and Alfeo Martini, a Romagnolo doc and president of the Mondodelvino group in 2009, together and gave birth to the company.
In early 2010 under the leadership of Alfeo and Marco, his son, work began that brought the Poderi dal Nespoli farm to the configuration of its current headquarters, consisting of the winery, vineyards, Bottega del Vino and the Borgo dei Guidi farmhouse, which with its sail in the park welcomes guests for events and ceremonies.
Poderi dal Nespoli today
Today, Poderi dal Nespoli is a landmark in the Romagna wine scene, part of the Argea Group and committed to ambitious projects. The recent partnership with renowned winemaker Riccardo Cotarella, announced in 2023, marks another important milestone. This collaboration aims to reinterpret three existing red wines and introduce two new whites in 2025, enhancing the identity of the area’s grape varieties, Sangiovese and Albana, and the qualitative vocation of the Predappio and Bidente Valley sub-area.
An area where viticulture has ancient origins. Vineyard hills stretching from north to south, generously watered by the Bidente River, create an ideal environment for growing vines and producing high-quality wines. The Bidente Valley has been recognized as the first Bio-Symbiotic District in Italy, an area where agriculture and the environment work in harmony. The alluvial terraces that were formed by the course of the river provide rich and generous clay-loam soils that impart unique characteristics to the wines produced in this region.
The pleasure of conviviality
This symbiosis between environment, people and agriculture has always been essential for Poderi dal Nespoli, as it allows the company to produce wines that tell the story and authenticity of Romagna.
True to its origins, the winery still combines wine production with the‘hospitality. Poderi dal Nespoli is a place where the art of making wine meets the pleasure of conviviality offering in the winery premises spaces dedicated to tasting and sharing, such as the Bottega del Vino and the Borgo dei Guidi farmhouse, a splendid Art Nouveau structure surrounded by Poderi dal Nespoli’s centuries-old park.
